Yeah, performances in JEDI are serviceable but not as memorable. Its almost as if your getting a rehearsal take or the first take. I actually think Hamill comes off as the best. His character had changed a bit over the three movies. I suspect the first two movies are more exciting because they didn't quite know what they were doing. With JEDI, everyone knew what they were doing and wanted to go home. In the prequels, I think Lee comes off as the best not just because he is Lee but because he had more experience interacting with special effects and pantomime. Even Lee and Cushing had a fallback position in their younger Hammer days. Ford sees to have the life sucked out of him. He's like the polar opposite of William Shatner. Maybe he was always like that and was lucky as an actor? Perhaps the right director needs to steer him.
