I was gonna tell a story when I realized I'd already told it around here somewhere, so I went and found it. This is what I posted in another thread about 3 1/2 years ago.
I have some crystal clear memories of my first viewing of BRIDES, in the theatre when I was ten years old, particularly the scenes mentioned by MP. I went with my best friend, Craig, who was about 1 1/2 to 2 years older than me -- a big boy. During the stable scene, when the padlock fell off the coffin, the place went up for grabs -- a humongous scream. When it subsided, I turned to Craig to share the joy of that fright. He had a strange, almost sick expression on his face, no joy there. I asked him what was the matter, he just shook his head. But I was worried and a minute later he still looked distinctly ill. I asked again what was wrong. He leaned over and whispered, "when the lock fell off the coffin...I peed my pants." I didn't laugh, just took it that BRIDES OF DRACULA had done its work and more.
And this is that thread. Pretty long and some interesting stuff.
