I'm probably gonna get fried by the TAP (Topic Already Posted) Police, but this thread is almost nine years old with no replies! So here goes:

BRIDES is one of my very favorite Hammers, and Peel's Baron Meinster is a great character. I think the movie is pretty scary, too. There were many scenes that, as a kid, had me peeking through my fingers: Van Helsing entering Chateau Meinster, the baroness slowly drifting down the steps behind Van Helsing, Greta helping "birth" the new vampire girl, etc.

The movie has taken some flak over the years because Lee's not in it, but I think most Hammer fans (and horror fans in general) now recognize it as a classic.

Peel appearing to Cushing in their fist encounter w/those red eyes and hissing, smiley: eekthat was my defining moment....Peel was pretty good at being a naughty Vampire... I never noticed any cable, too busy looking at the Baron being romantic w/Maryann....also one of my faves, beautiful like all Hammer films.smiley: happy
