At some point, the UA collection must have been controlled by Warner Brothers BEFORE Ted Turner ever entered the field.  In the mid-1970s, I recall the 16mm division was called 'WB/UA", and (I believe) the United Artists collection in the Library of Congress (which also includes RKO titles) was acquired from WB.
