Re: A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN - Cheap Universal  (reply)
When I first read it, I thought they said "UltraViolent" copy, and was more than a little bit confused.

Re: Universal Monster Puzzles by Golden (reply)
Here it is, in case you ever wondered what the Mummy’s Crypt puzzle actually looked like. I finally built it. This has to win the Rondo Award for “The most potentially cool Mummy collectible, completely crap-ified by marketing”. It’s...

Re: Drinking glasses (reply)
It worked!!!     I was finally able to get some high quality scans of the monster placemats, which I was able to tweak and warp back into their original shape (because the glasses are tapered, you need a slight arc). After printing out...

Re: A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN - Cheap Universal  (reply)
Although Walmart no longer carries this Blu-ray, they do offer these Video on Demand HD rentals:http://www.walmart.com/ip/16444015$13.99 for unlimited HD screenings. Does anyone know if it is the digitally cleaned up version? Also, are...

Custom Godzilla Animation Cel (topic)
Below is a custom made sericel from the Hanna-Barbera version of Godzilla. It was adapted from one of the pencil tests sketches of the character. I had to use those sketches since most of the animation was so sloppy that it wouldn’t...

Count, you can find A&C MEET F cheaper than that: Thanks, at that price I might just consider it (especially if one of those used copies pop up).

Re: A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN - Cheap Universal  (reply)
I'm glad to hear that they actually cleaned up the movie for BluRay, but I'm still very hesitant about buying this one; especially when the A&C BluRay package costs $30 and I got the other 8 BluRay movies for only $55!BTW: I have a...

Re: Wade Denning still gives me the willies (reply)
I had "The Headless Horseman" and my friend had "The Hitch-Hiker" from the back of the cereal boxes; and your right, "The Hitch-Hiker" did pack a punch for a children's story. It was partially because of the story itself, but also the...

Re: Non-"Genre" Songs That "Spook" You Anyway (reply)
"Ode to Billy Joe" falls in a similar category. While the song doesn't exactly creep me out in the same way as "Georgia", its subtly downbeat tone and dark implications certainly leaves a listener uneasy.

"The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia" always creeped me out as a kid, it sounded like the record was being played at the wrong speed!

Re: Show off your replicas and reproductions (reply)
This piece is not a true replica, per-se, as it is not actually based on any specific prop; rather it is modeled off of several different pieces of equipment from Frankenstein’s lab. It is sort of a tribute to the overall look and style...

Poor judgement, brain damage, insanity, lack of taste...Take your pick. Perhaps the piece wasn't finished in time. It's a beautiful painting that really deserved its own puzzle.

Re: Universal Monster Puzzles by Golden (reply)
It did materialize, sort of, as a specialty Golden Mystery Puzzle (see page 1 of this thread). It was released after the initial four puzzles. The "mystery" was that the actual puzzle didn't match the artwork on the box. You had to read...

Here’s a real treat since this thread has been revived; I came across this a few months ago, the original, un-cropped artwork for what would have been the Mummy’s puzzle, by R.L. Allen.

Here’s an update on the Scroll of Thoth; I finally got around to framing it against a purple velvet background. I also created a gold plaque to go along with it, describing the particulars and the translation.
