Re: Let's talk about View-Masters! (reply)
This could definitely fall under the “Gee, I didn’t know they made that” category. I haven’t seen these in so long that I was beginning to doubt my own memory, but I just recently came across these examples online. If the regular...

Re: Ray Harryhausen (reply)
Sad news, indeed. However, he will live forever in his rich film legacy. To paraphrase Tom Hanks, Citizen Kane isn't Hollywood's best film, it's Jason and the Argonauts!

Re: New at Big Lots (reply)
I just found "Man of a Thousand Faces" at Big Lots for $5. I had to buy it, since many moons ago on this forum I urged Universal to re-release it.

HAVE A VERY BARUGON CHRISTMAS!  (topic)
Here’s a Christmas ornament you’re not going to find in any store; created through the magic of Shrinky-Dinks, it’s a decoration I made of my favorite old Gamera foe, Barugon. Nothing says Christmas like some vintage kaiju.

Custom Sideshow Figures  (topic)
Everyone knows that Sideshow created some of the greatest 8” monster figures ever released, but sometimes their detailing or paint scheme didn’t always match how I envisioned the character. Therefore, I ended up customizing many of those...

Re: Major theatrical showing of Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein in October (reply)
Even though I have a video projection system and could see these movies on the "big screen" anytime I like, I still wanted to go for the camaraderie and the "big, BIG screen" experience. Unfortunately, something came up and I was unable...

Gamera at Kmart  (topic)
I don't know if this is old news, but I just saw the new Gamera trilogy on Blu-ray at Kmart in the bargain bin for $9.99!!!

Re: CHFB Model Kit Gallery (reply)
Here is how I painted my Frightening Lightning version of the Bride of Frankenstein. I’ve had this model for many years and even posted pictures of it previously in this thread; but I have been frustrated with how the glow plastic...

Re: Creature From the Black Lagoon Fish Tank Onament (reply)
Here is the piece as it was meant to be displayed: In a nice aquarium with the vivid color scheme I had always envisioned; along with some elaborate accessories. This is just a dry run through (pardon the pun); I still want to verify...

SUCCESS!!!! (reply)
I am extremely interested in possibly trying to make one of these myself. Did you end up getting anywhere with your project?          After putting it off for far, far too long, I finally went...

Re: SAVED FROM AN AWFUL FATE!!!  (reply)
Ironically, the Gogos painting from FM 112, on which the customized trading cards in the frame are based, is flipped in the same fashion.

Re: Bride of Frankenstein Replica Help Needed  (reply)
Is this the same heart jar with the heart that Henry kept beating for three weeks? Actually, that feat came from the original movie, but I'm guessing he recycled the same jar for the sequel. Not that I recommend it, but one of the...

Re: Bride of Frankenstein Replica Help Needed  (reply)
Basically, that was what I was planning to do. However, I was going to make one alteration/customization, I was going to make the electrode plates clear or semi-transparent. After all, it would be shame to build a heart container and not...

Bride of Frankenstein Replica Help Needed  (topic)
I realize that this post might be better pigeonholed in the “Toys and Collectibles” or “Memorabilia” section, but I also know that this thread gets the most site traffic. I am now trying to make a replica of the heart container apparatus...

SAVED FROM AN AWFUL FATE!!!  (topic)
Actually the title should read: “Saved from an awful fate as a sport’s collectible”. While I, personally, have no real interest in sports; I am, never the less, in awe of the sports collector. They can take an item so ratty and...

Re: Are we really just hoarders?  (reply)
Sometimes it is hard to differentiate between collecting and hoarding. I actually consider myself quite picky about what monster items I purchase. Some collectors have to buy EVERYTHING for their given collection, no matter how...

Okay, I admit that I must have been channeling the ghost of FJA when I came up with the title for this one; but this project is one I made for the Godzilla collector who has everything. I never know which thread to pigeonhole these...

HAVE A KAIJU EASTER  (topic)
For X-mas I had Frankenstein invade the Christmas village train station; now, for Easter, I have added a giant monster slant to my festivities. Of the two, Mothra, above, is definitely the stronger piece. Mothra and her egg...
