Re: Memories Of Favorite Department Store, Discount Store, Five & Dime Store, Etc. (reply)
This was shot in a Ben Franklin store in 1995. The vintage toys were "art directed."

The opening and closing credits sure look great in your version. Much cleaner and wider than the rest of the film. I hope someone uncovers the original negative or a high-quality widescreen print.

Hello HerryGrail! Thank you very much! Congratulations on your acquisitions. I have interviewed the person who took the picture of the Melting Man in the bedroom. I know the identity of the guy on the wall. But I'm not telling! Hopefully...

Re: Topstone masks (reply)
As cool as the Arbus photo is, I don't think any of those kids are actually wearing Topstone masks. The Shock looks like the West German Shock knockoff. The Cyclops also looks like a West German mask. We already know the Skull is not...

I wish I could be there. Too sick and too poor right now. Maybe someone with an iPad will do a webcast.

Oh, just one thing. I notice that Mojica's name is misspelled in the Rondo announcement. It is "Mojica," not "Majica." Don't misspell it on the plaque!

Thank you for recognizing José Mojica Marins. I hope you prepare a plaque for him. He loves awards, so this will put a smile on his face. And maybe a few people who read about the awards and say "Coffin who?" will seek out his films and...

Re: Your First Monster Collectable (reply)
If you are asking us to name our first monster item from childhood, mine were the Colorforms Aliens. I teethed on them. My next monster item was the Aurora Creature glow in the dark model kit. The flood gates opened after that. I had all...

I agree the NECA 8" Snake looks better than the Sidesow 12" version. I heard Snake was available at TRU, but I haven't seen him yet.

Re: NOMINATIONS FOR RONDO XIII (reply)
Interesting that the feeling around here seems to be that, in the book category, the Dracula book is a shoe-in. At UMA and HMA, Lee Lambert's Don Post book probably seems like a shoe-in for "best book" of the year. Very different...

The Babadook is a revelation. It's a once-in-a-decade, genre-defining kind of film. Unfortunately, it will be up against Guardians of the Galaxy, The Winter Soldier, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, maybe The Lego Movie. Maybe the Rondo...

Due to the muted audio, I will probably remove SOLOMON from YouTube. I have uploaded it to my Facebook page. If you are friends with Coffinray on Facebook, you can see it there. Unless Facebook takes it down.

YouTube has muted the audio on Fighting for the Lost Mines of Solomon due to a copyright claim on the music.

Re: Topstone masks (reply)
That's a Topstone Caveman with fang-like teeth. There were at least two sculpts of the mask. One had the two prominent teeth as you see in the Honeymooners image, and the other had full rows of even teeth.
