Re: Frank Perry's THE SWIMMER (1968) from Grindhouse Releasing 3/11/14! (reply)
That's a very apt comparison to note how THE SWIMMER possesses an aspect that would not be out of step with THE TWILIGHT ZONE; in fact the story could have easily been adapted for the show.  The film plays with conventions of time, as...

Re: Hands of the Ripper Blu-ray in July  (reply)
The key thing for me among the features listed is the U.S. television introduction, which I haven't seen since 1977 when the movie ran on the ABC Friday Night Movie. Figured that was lost for good, so kudos to Synapse for unearthing it!

I think the photos ran in STARLOG #15; there was a two-page article covering the proposed movie. It was to be produced by Milton Subotsky and directed by Harley Cokliss. Barry Leith was the fellow who was supposed to do the stop-motion...

That's fantastic news. I've been a big fan of the film since my initial viewing of the movie, and a proper presentation of it has been long overdue.

I think one episode of MAUDE guest starred Conrad's identical twin brother Bonar, which may be the only instance of the brothers acting together.

People might remember him best from either his series ADDERLY that ran on CBS Late Night circa 1986/7, or his other series NEON RIDER that ran at the start of the 1990s. He had a nice role in the Norman Jewison film version of AGNES OF...
