Re: Ghostbusters 3 (reply)
For the love of God, can we PLEASE stop having the token Black character who's just a wise-crackin', Stepin Fetchit? They almost had me until she showed up in this trailer. Winston Zeddemore was not a caricature.Ghostbusters is in my...

INCUBUS 1982 (topic)
I have, admittedly, poor luck in using the search function on this site.  Didn't see a thread for this little gem, directed by genre veteran John Hough and starring the amazing John Cassavetes.  I'm working on a review and just...

Re: Tales From the Crypt (reply)
I sat and made my list of my 25 favorite episodes the other day with my husband, also a fan. I'll have to dig that list up. The show was a mixed bag and it's hard to pick a couple of favorites. For me, it's like "favorite creepy...

Re: KOLCHAK creator Jeff Rice (reply)
Evidently he was a lovely fellow but suffered from issues. A fine writer and Kolchak beat the pants off Anne Rice, in my opinion. A loss, indeed.

Oh wow. That was quite the episode! Saw that fairly recently on MeTV. That "Sylvia" episode of "Little House on the Prairie." Hands. Down. Danny Glick in the window, "'Salem's Lot" TV movie. Boom.

Re: "Bloody Birthday" (1981) (reply)
Just caught this one myself. Man, they really crammed in so much of the '70s slasher trope goodness into this one. I really had a ball watching it.

Re: Frankenhooker (1990) (reply)
This film is so under-appreciated. It's a low rent Re-Animator, to be sure, but so much fun. The leads (James Lorinz and Patty Mullen) should have had a much lengthier career. This film has that '80s charm and nuance to it that I go...

Re: Bats/Supes World's Finest? (reply)
I was incredulous. Hubby and I watched the trailer yesterday and I yelled, "Just take my money!! We can't wait. He is especially interested in seeing Momoa's Aquaman.

Re: Penny Dreadful: Showtimes Frankenstein/Dracula Series (reply)
I have a string of random thoughts. I preferred, in general, last season. Not too keen on the sex but it wasn't as much as last season. I don't care for Dorian, at all. In fact, I despise him. But it was the one Oscar Wilde work I...

Re: Jem The Movie (or why am I not surprised and delighted) (reply)
The issue is Christy Marx, a "GI Joe" scriptwriter, was commissioned by Hasbro to develop and write the series bible for their new line of toys. Hasbro maintains the right to basically only Jem, Jerrica, the Holograms, and Rico....

Matt Reeves, Cloverfield director? I'm in! I, as well, kept forgetting the apes are CGI. I'm the first to shake my cane at the CGI folks, yelling, "Get off my lawn!" Looking forward to this.

Re: Supernatural  (reply)
Finale tonight, gang. Not so keen on this season. Love Rowena, but she's just not heavy villain. The Frankensteins were mis-used, in my opinion. Ugh. Here's to a better season this fall!
