Re: Jem The Movie (or why am I not surprised and delighted) (reply)
The issue is Christy Marx, a "GI Joe" scriptwriter, was commissioned by Hasbro to develop and write the series bible for their new line of toys. Hasbro maintains the right to basically only Jem, Jerrica, the Holograms, and Rico....

Re: War of the Planet of the Apes (reply)
Matt Reeves, Cloverfield director? I'm in! I, as well, kept forgetting the apes are CGI. I'm the first to shake my cane at the CGI folks, yelling, "Get off my lawn!" Looking forward to this.

Re: The Babadook (reply)
Saw it on Mother's Day (yeah, that's how I roll!). Hubby and I enjoyed. Having been the mom with the odd, disturbed son and having been the child of a deeply depressed mom... Wow. This film got to me and got me good. We felt it is...

Re: Supernatural  (reply)
Finale tonight, gang. Not so keen on this season. Love Rowena, but she's just not heavy villain. The Frankensteins were mis-used, in my opinion. Ugh. Here's to a better season this fall!

Re: Penny Dreadful: Showtimes Frankenstein/Dracula Series (reply)
Holy moly! Anyone else watching? The first second season episodes are great. Patti LuPone! Amazing job. Helen McCrory is always a delight. She is just deliciously evil. Eva Green is all-out great as usual. Looking forward to this...

Re: Grimm (NBC)  (reply)
Season finale? Anyone? Okay, I'll go first. I hated it. The Star Child trope makes me want to punch people. I think the writers sit around, drinking Boone's Farm, eating Cheetos and Taco Bell, and at the last minute decide to put a...

I enjoyed this film both times I watched it. But the characters were endearing to me. Atmospheric and creepy.

Re: THE WALKING DEAD (reply)
Rick's crazy, but hubby and I figured he let Pete get the upper hand so the townsfolk saw what a monster Pete is. I don't know. I try not to think too hard. Ruins the show. About the babies. Hell. No. I have four kids. Zombie...

Looking forward to watching this video. Love Manhunter and much prefer Cox over Hopkins. Longtime fan of the Harris novels as well. Thanks for posting.

Re: THE WALKING DEAD (reply)
I have to agree now about the captioning. Hubby was a bit cross at me for whispering a couple of things to my daughter during the construction scene shoot-out. Evidently we missed dialogue. We re-wound it and, sure enough, he was...

Re: Mission: Impossible (1966-73)  (reply)
Hubby and I were rolling with laughter last night playfully talking about the show (of which I'm a life-long fan). I said, "Could you imagine? Fyvush Finkel is an accountant, a bean counter at IMF. He's pulling his hair out, yelling at...

Re: THE WALKING DEAD (reply)
Sasha's reaction to the party rang so true to me and felt so true. Saw it coming. I cried harder about that than I did any death. Why the hell would she need "a good kick in the ass?" What a horrible statement. That whole scene...

Just saw this on Amazon Prime, though Netflix streaming had it at some point. Thought it was fun and, honestly, I would love a sequel. Alexandra Daddario did an excellent job. I think they set up the direction in which her character...

Re: Who is This Artist? (reply)
Oh gosh! We met Thomas Blackshear in Atlanta in the '90s (I was interested in collecting some of his work and a family member worked at a collectibles store.) I had NO idea he was into horror/SF until I just Googled him! Just awesome.
