Re: WB Archives (reply)
I think they'll throw us a bone, but it's not gonna be like last year with the Hammer set, unfortunately. However, since Criterion is releasing CAT PEOPLE, it'd be a good time for WAC to upgrade some of the other Lewtons to bd to tie in...

Re: THE QUIET MAN - Yet Another Blu-ray from Olive (?!) (reply)
I think the new one is a new 4K transfer from the same materials used for the first Olive release. No idea if it'll be much different in appearance though (colors, etc).

I wouldn't be surprised to see a US release for BoSC sometime within the next year or so. DRILLER KILLER is a big one for me, very excited for it. It's one of my fave Ferrara movies.

Twilight Time is planning this, and it sounds like they're going to try to access this new source for theirs (if possible). According to a comment they made on fb.

I consider Waters' best film overall to be HAIRSPRAY, followed closely by POLYESTER. I adore FEMALE TROUBLE and of course PINK FLAMINGOS. He's hit-or-miss with his later films, like CRY BABY (some good elements, but doesn't do a whole...

Re: HERSCHELL GORDON LEWIS COLLECTIONS (reply)
Movies all come down to wanting to make a buck. HG always admitted that was his motivation. I don't find his movies to be soulless, but definitely a bit amateurish. But similar to John Waters, his "style" developed a bit as time went on....

Re: NECROMANCY from Code Red on Blu (reply)
Mardi Gras Massacre is an obvious homage to Blood Feast. Good? No, but I found it to be entertaining. Haven't seen House On The Edge Of The Park or Maniac!, but I'd like to get them. And Hollywood Blvd is late 70's Corman/Dante/etc....
