Sep 5 12 7:25 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I don't have anything specifically against the show. I just prefer to watch older TV than that, most of the time. I'm happy if folks are happy with it. For example, I'm not a big KOJAK fan either, but Luis here really wanted it back, so it's all good. Me-TV gives me plenty of what I like, so I really have no complaints, overall. I still would rather see THE UNTOUCHABLES and GOMER PYLE back, and would like to see some other older shows I haven't seen for a while (or not at all), but I'm good with what this channel offers.

Sep 6 12 10:09 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well, I finally caught Kojak and if all the episodes are like that, I would rather watch endless reruns of The Untouchables. No action and a lot of corny, stilted dialogue about the justice system. If you look at the writing credits, Night Gallery last night looked like The Twilight Zone, but not in the execution. Richard Matheson on a badly done comic tale, and an incredibly dumb one by Rod Serling. But I remember there were some decent ones, so they won't all be this bad.

Sep 6 12 10:42 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The generally acknowledged culprit behind the uneveness of NIGHT GALLERY was producer Jack Laird who had a more comic bent and is responsible for the show's horror movie send-ups. He and Serling weren't a good match. But you could also argue that Serling himself was a little past his prime, that he had done his best work on TWILIGHT ZONE and was coasting a little.

Not going to get a whole lot of action on KOJAK it's more a character driven show perhaps one has to be a big Telly Savalas fan to enjoy the show, another interesting aspect of the show is seeing recognizable faces many who were not so well known at the time like Sylvester Stallone, James Woods, Christopher Walken, Erik Estrada, etc. Luis Last Edited By: luisj40 Sep 7 12 10:52 AM. Remingron Steele is even better than I remember, at least so far. That CIA employee trying to get married with someone trying to kill him had a climax I sure didn't see coming. Diane Keaton on Night Gallery. I remember that one, but forgot Keaton was in it. Also Angel Tompkins. I had a boss who said he met Tompkins at a party and asked her out and she sent him a nice note turning him down. I bet she wrote a lot of notes.

I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar actor-faces, not least that of Anne "Honey West" Francis in the crossover that launched her show. NATURALISTIC! UNCANNY! MARVELOUS!

I have nothing against shows or movies after then, and in fact, like my share of them. But I have a limited time to spend watching, and this is what I choose to watch. Thank goodness for Me-TV even showing a lot of these older shows.

Sep 8 12 11:27 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Kojak's brother showed up Friday. He looks way too fat and out of shape to be a cop. That one was a little better. Finally a Night Gallery with just one episode instead of the two for one in a half hour slot. Not bad, with Serling scripting and Burgess Meredith starring. But somehow even the better Night Galleries don't seem to have that quality that made TZ so special. And for a horror themed show, all the murders took place discretely off screen. I'll take a look at Burke's Law, but I tried to watch one on youtube when Gene Barry died and found that episode to be pretty tedious. They do have a lot of guest stars.

Sep 9 12 4:51 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	If you like NIGHT GALLERY, there is a 4 hour marathon on today starting at 3pm. It's the new Sunday Showcase on here. I can't wait to see if they can come up with some stuff that isn't on the regular schedule for future showcases. Saw BURKE'S LAW this morning, and wow! I was SUPER impressed with the number of stars who showed up (aside from Regis Toomey who is a regular)! Let's see....Zasu Pitts, William Bendix, Stephen McNally, Cedric Hardwicke, Jay C Flippen (who I think might be a regular?). I'm sure I missed remembering someone. I really quite liked this show, having never seen it before. Interesting premise with the lead being a millionaire who is also chief of police detectives. You can see how the show may have influenced several that came later. I'm sure I will be enjoying this show very much every week.

Millionaire playboy BatBurke gets a hotline call with his Asian valet, and races from the mansion to fight crime with his Teenage Frankenstein sidekick. All among a boatload of celebrity guest stars. John Zaremba was at the start, with some other monster friendly guy who looks and sounds familiar. Can't wait till Bruce Cabot and Rod Cameron show up. Holy Old Home Week!
