Grayson Hall has a difficult face to draw properly. Still, this guy is Leonardo compared to the unmentionable horror that was Joe Certa. H.

Nov 9 11 2:08 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	This looks pretty awful - why is the panel of her walking downstairs a full page splash? All the faces seem to be bad tracings of screen captures - this sort of reeks of, "Hello lowest bidder! You're our new artist." I can't say I care for Dynamite's tactics of hiring fan writers who are probably working for free (or probably would) just because they love the property so much. There's a craft to storytelling that dilletantes never seem to understand, and especially in writing for comics. I'd much rather read a well crafted story written by someone who's never seen an episode of the show than a bad story written by someone who has them all memorized. Think I'll give this a pass.

May 3 12 1:14 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	...bought issue one, with reservations. My reservations were appropriate. Quite simply, compared to the Gold Key versions, this comic is just plain dull. And, too much of the focus is on the continuing story angle. I gave my copy away, and will stick to my old comics. I really believe that the best story tellers and illustrators have retired or passed on, in comic book world. But, that's my opinion.

While I can't speak to specific criticism of this title not having been directly exposed to it, your comments about the artist seem a bit misplaced as I understand this is the work of Francesco Francavilla who is actually quite a talented comics illustrator and hardly anyone's idea of a cut rate hack. May 15 12 10:57 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Issue 5 was a pretty big improvement story wise, the art is still severely lacking. One thing that really bugged me was that Carolyn was referred to as Julie!!! I had to reread it a few more times to verify that my eyes were not playing tricks.

May 15 12 6:32 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	...eh, I figure if it's any good, I'll catch on. That's how it was when I was a kid in the 70's, with comics that had a continuing storyline. I could only get comics here and there, so I got good at filling in the blanks. Besides, like the early seasons of the old TV show, Dallas..which I liked, even a comic or an episode of a show with a continuing storyline should be able to stand alone as a piece of entertainment, on "some" level. I like the cover, more than any so far. If there's anything at all inside, that is remotely entertaining...without me having to have read prior issues, I'll keep it. If not, I won't.

May 27 12 10:59 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	...got issue 4, primarily because it was a good cover. It was pretty easy to pick up where the storyline was, and the story within the story wrapped up at the end, which I like. But, a sense of fun isn't there...and the graphics were kind of plain and boring, with very little attention paid to background. And, cover aside, the likeness of Frid was not captured inside the comic, at all.
