Napier nails it as his trademark hardass with a killer smile, and early Sly is almost a caricature of his later image with the cap, muscles and dialect. Not quite sure what to make of the ending. Stir in Savalas as the tough talking seeker of truth and it was a great mix. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

May 18 12 1:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Years later Napier and Stallone would cross paths once more in RAMBO II, I'm really digging KOJAK of course I was a fan when I was a kid too and Telly Savalas character really caries this show but all those guest appearances by actors who would become stars are pretty cool. One thing I also enjoy watching the series is trying to figure out the shooting locations for many of the outdoor scenes as most might be aware the show was primarily shot in LA there are a lot of establishing shots of NY City but most of the scenes with the actors were shot in the streets of LA or back-lots of Universal Studios. I manage to catch a glimpse of an LA City street sign during one of Kojak's chases a few episodes ago and also a few times I recognize a downtown LA skyscraper (the old Security Pacific building) we don't have that many and even less back in the 70's. May 21 12 3:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I am GREATLY enjoying MeTV since it became available around the Stately Estate, and hate to sound deeply critical...but Ghoulardi playing a Marx Brothers movie this past Saturday?!? Is this SOP for his show? Was under the impression he was the traditional throwback horror show host (that's a compliment), thus it was awfully weird to see a comedy amongst all the Creature flicks he's been showing as of late. May 21 12 4:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	To tell you the truth, I am burned out with the Honeymooners. I have seen them so often and despite the fine acting by the three leads, the humor seems dated. I hardly watched Car 54 that much before or maybe I just saw the great intro with that song. That is real uneven. Last Saturday they had one of their best episodes and it was followed by one so stupid I turned it off. You know, Joe E. Ross isn't that funny. It should have been Gwynne and Al Lewis. I'd rather watch Bilko. I thought Horse Feathers was a weird pick for that show also. They have done comedies before, but they had a horror theme. I wouldn't mind if they showed Topper movies.

May 21 12 4:49 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	While I do think it a little odd to show a Marx Bros film on a horror themed show, I enjoy that film very much so I just went with the flow. Love CAR 54. I don't think it's all that uneven. There is an odd show here and there, but generally it's high comedy. And when it's on, it's probably one of the funniest shows ever on TV. Odd that it only lasted 2 seasons. I do agree that Al Lewis is one of the funniest ever on there. Schauser, just the mention of his name gets me going. I love THE HONEYMOONERS. I never tire of it. Always hilarious no matter what.

Double delighted when she turned up on CANNON the very next afternoon, in one of the Richard Donner episodes. She was playing these mature "has been" type roles then, and it's a little startling to realize she was only 50 in both of them.

Another top notch Combat yesterday with Vic Morrow and Frank Gorshen driving a German tank through German lines. Morrow was a very underrated actor. Not that he had time to do much acting here. Well there are only 39 episodes of the series or are they compiling the Honeymooners sketches from the JACKIE GLEASON SHOW into this series? Never mind I just found out yes the sketches have been added to the series which is why I didn’t recognize some of the episodes plus noticed a few have two different stories.
