For some reason the games during Buddy's era tended to have names attached to them: The Fog Bowl, The Pork Chop Bowl, The House of Pain, etc. etc.My favorite was the Bounty Bowl. Thanksgiving vs. the Cowboys on the opening kick off a reserve linebacker Jessie Smalls for the Eagles crushes former Eagle's place kicker Luis Zendejas. He gets up after the monster hit and staggers like a druken man to the Eagle's side line and tries to attack Buddy. I had no clue what was going on and why it happened until later on when it was reported that Buddy had put a bounty on Zendejas. Before the game one of the Eagle's assistant coaches warned Zendejas what was happening, so he knew it was coming and wanted revenge after it happened. Geez, how the game has changed.
Buddy Ryan a real class act... NOT! No surprise the loud mouth no class Rex Ryan sprung out that guy.

I miss all the characters from football from years ago also. It was almost borderline pro wrestling. Now we have egomania substituting for personality and it's a poor substitute.

The best relief pitcher, indubitably the best closer in the history of baseball. I assume he's done for good, since he was probably gonna retire after this season, but this is certainly not the way anyone wanted to see that fabulous career end. There is no joy in Gotham.

Eli was very good, however, very committed, very willing to go out on a limb, and very funny. It was a good show. But, yes, Peyton was an even better host. I think he was, far and away, the best non-show biz host SNL has ever had. Really funny and showed some genuine acting ability. Maybe working in 20 million tv commercials does that for you. (Other good sports hosts were Michael Jordan, and, especially, Derek Jeter. But neither of them were as good as the Mannings.)
