Apr 25 12 3:58 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Back in the 1980's, when I was young, I use to often stay up late to watch WOR-TV's Fright Night! Most of the films they aired at that time where low-budget drive-in type films made in the 1960's and 70's! The films where often very creepy to watch! I now have a book recently publish by a James Arena called "Fright Night on Channel 9" subtitled "Saterday Night Horror Films on New York's WOR-TV 1973-1987"! The book lists all the Fright Night films aired on it from '73 to '87! I like to ask y'all what are your favorite of the low-budget horror films, not the classics like Frankenstein or King Kong, but the more obscure films like the ones I have listed here or others: What is your favorite Low Budget Horror Film from WOR's Fright Night (Result) 1. Apr 26 12 4:00 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thanks to all who voted and left comments! These are only 9 movies which I saw and remembered best on Fright Night back in the 80's! I love the intro score of "the House of Seven Corpses", very creepy! I don't know which would be my very favorite, but the House, Dead Things, Lemora, Baron Blood and Basement would top my list!

Apr 27 12 11:39 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	2 things that irked me about Channel 9's Fright Night - why did the opening bumper show some of the classic Universal monsters when Channel 9 never owned them and never showed them (to the best of my knowledge)? I know channel 5 showed them, as did PBS channel 13, but never channel 9. Also, channel 9 would literally cut the guts out of these films. Some of them were so badly censored, trying to follow the story was nearly useless.

There's no listing under that title. Could it be NIGHT OF HORROR or NIGHT OF BLOODY HORROR? edit: wait, wait, wait... I see that, in the poll, it's ISLAND OF LIVING HORROR. May 2 12 8:55 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	By the time I moved back to the NY cable area, "Fright Night" was on its last legs. I recall seeing quite a few AVCO imports, like WITCHES MOUNTAIN, DEATH SMILES ON A MURDERER and some confusing giallo with Edwige Fenech and Ivan Rassimov (I'm not interested enough to check the IMDb to find the title). But I had already seen all of the other films when I lived in the Metro D.C. area, so they certainly weren't limited to WOR.

May 19 12 6:59 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	WOR DID show some of the Classic Universal horrors in the early to mid 1960s. I definitely remember these: BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA'S DAUGHTER, SON OF DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN. These may have been shown as "Million Dollar Movies", as opposed to "horror films", because I remember all the above titles showed at least 5 times during the week. "E" Your Signature ... "....I do hope he won't upset Henry..."

Jun 14 12 3:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I decided to vote for "Hippies Shouldn't Play With Cadavers" as my favorite low budget WOR Fright Night film! It has a great mix of both 70's style comedic one liners and a very creepy atmosphere, sound effects, and ghouls! I always like it more than "Night of the Living Dead" because it was much creepier, had a better ending and more funny, even though Living Dead was also quit funny in an unintentual way!
