He also claimed to have turned down A Fistful of Dollars, because of the meager salary and the producer later called him and said they were considering Clint Eastwood and James Brolin. Harrison reccommended Eastwood because he knew how to ride a horse. That did strike me as unbelievable.

Feb 11 12 6:33 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Vincent Price’s Fish Steamed In A Dishwasher 2 well cleaned fish, cut open on the side 5 slices of bread, torn into pieces square. 3 tablespoons vinegar, or 4 tablespoons white wine 1 teaspoon salt 4 tablespoons oil 1/2 clove of garlic, minced a pinch of oregano Stuff the fish with the bread (soaked in vinegar or wine), salt, oil, oregano and garlic. Wrap the fish in foil very tightly (wrapping a couple of times). Put the tightly wrapped fish in the dishwasher while you do the dishes. When the dishes are done, so is the fish. immediately on a clean plate. (Otherwise, steam on top of the stove.) But, when you get right down to it, both were actors, both were art mavens, one was a boy from Kansas, the other from Missouri. Really a lot of surprisingly common ground. Nice photo, by the way. Maybe during STORY OF MANKIND? They were both in that stinker.

Just watched VP in "A Black Day for Bluebeard," a March 1973 episode of The Snoop Sisters, with Helen Hayes and Mildred Natwick. Roddy Mcdowell was on hand as well. There was a lot of padding but a couple of fun bits, including Vincent emerging from a coffin in a Lugosi-styled Dracula costume and makeup. My favorite part was Vincent and Mildred Natwick's character cooking together. Natwick was supposed to be severely drunk and they were making crepes. It was a hoot though perhaps too arch for most palates. I wonder if this was the only time VP and Roddy ever worked together. I'm trying to recall if I ever saw them paired in any other projects. Tammy Grimes was cast as the VP character's wife but was wasted, with very little for her to do--supposedly bitchy dialogue that fell flat. They seem to have had difficulties in this project (Snoop Sisters) getting good dialogue writers. H.

May 8 12 9:51 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I saw that production. It was not good, very cheaply mounted, but Roddy was good and Vinnie seemed to be having the time of his life. Coral Browne was also in the cast as the real aunt from Brazil, "where the nuts come from."

Jan 23 13 9:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hah, referring back to much earlier post re bisexuality and measuring sexual responses of self-identified bisexuals -- it's also worth noting that a similar study found that a large percentage of women responded to footage of Bonobos having sex (i.e. moreso than men did, for some reason). I don't think this suggests these women would actually have sex with chimps... Coral Browne was certainly bisexual, and Vincent's marriage to her can hardly be considered a 'beard' arrangement -- he already had a perfectly good beard in place so why leave her for a new one? Unless he was... uh, genuinely nuts about her?
