I'm curious if anyone has seen the trailer for the newest film adaptation of the classic poe tale? Here's the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PGDV1SWRkQ I'm not sure what to think. Thoughts?

Might ruin it a bit having him be the character. BUT, it does look to make for a fun evening of viewing with FROM HELL and SLEEPY HOLLOW. And the sequel! The sequel could have been great, but the whole thing of the kid ending up in the perfect place every single time got to be a bit much. I wish Carr hadn't used him as the main character. I did like the book, I just found myself rolling my eyes too many times. Still, I would all be for a big screen adaptation of it! Apr 28 12 1:23 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I can say that it was one of the worst films I've seen in awhile. - Poe uses the "F" word, is a smooth ladies man wooing the young hottie Alice Eve, and more like the regular John Cusack film personna than you'd expect of Poe. He has a pet racoon too. - the mystery tries to be involving but is fairly listless in it's execution - there is a tremendous lot of gore (lingering shots often) if that is of interest - can't say there is much to recommend the film for.

Apr 28 12 2:25 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just returned from the theater and although Alice Eve is easy on the eyes this movie is not very good. John Cusack just seems like John Cusack. Bad casting IMO. Maybe Johnny Depp would've been better as Poe? The pace is so slow I almost fell asleep - although the story should create a "faster pace" with a sense of urgency. Just wasn't there... Virtually no suspense - althought production value was decent. Can't recommend this at all. Disappointing. "I saw what I saw when I saw it!"
