He's a pro at this, and if there's one available he'll probably find it, but each year (this is an annual series) they've had to run more and more video. That Swank print is now likely pretty tattered, and if it was old enough, pink as well, although sounds like it might have been low fade. Studios just don't see the money in making new expensive prints for the increasingly limited runs at the few theaters that want to do classic series. As the majority of cinemas (that want to continue to exist) now or soon will have digital projection, they don't see the point. The number of us out there who can see the (increasingly subtle) difference between film and hi-def video are too little to matter. I do the animation show for him now, all video. They just liscense the stuff and then we put it together from discs. Fortunately this series is still about 80% film, but that number will continue to go down each year... SAM33

Doesn't the arm seamlessly change color upon the Martian's death? Probably via lighting effects.

The bottom picture reminds me of the beautiful cover art Vincent DiFate did back in the 70's I believe for Cinefantastique Magazine where the Martian was featured quite prominently. Unfortunately I don't own a copy today, but I always will remember the cover.

Jun 1 12 5:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The ironic thing is that in the Bill Warren, Bob Burns and Joe Dante commentary they point out the wires and how they were not noticeable in the theatrical releases but very obvious on the various VHS versions. They imply everything will be cleaned up for the DVD but there they are visible as can be. I've got to assume this is one Paramount film that has a shot of Blu Ray, even if it's via Olive Films.

Jun 1 12 8:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I love this movie. I really do. But for some reason,I can't get past the wires. It disappoints me everytime I see them. They distract me. I usually can look past wires in movies,but not this one. In some scenes I can't see them and that distracts me even more. You go from one scene where you see them to another where you don't. Frustrating. I still enjoy it though.
