I've been hearing rumors of Mel Gibson's participation in Robert Rodriguez's MACHETE sequel for a few weeks now, and Mel even addressed them during the post-GET THE GRINGO Q&A, but it seemed all words, no action to this point. Now we have the action that may get Mel Gibson involved with MACHETE KILLS.
Deadline reports that Gibson is in talks to join the cast (the Michelle Williams rumors hasn't beared any fruit yet), although the nature of his role still remains a mystery. Could this be the more clear-cut villain Gibson has been aching to play, resulting in a face-to-face showdown with Danny Trejo? Or does Rodriguez have something else in mind. If GET THE GRINGO was any indication, Gibson still has the ability to bring his action chops on-screen when needed.
