James Newton Howard replaces Howard Shore on King KongJackson: "During the last few weeks, Howard and I came to realize that we had differing creative aspirations for the score of 'King Kong.' Rather than waste time arguing with a friend and trying to unify our points of view, we decided amicably to let another composer score the film."Due out on December 14, the film requires over two hours of music, which must now be written over the next few weeks. "
"Coming in at the last minute was composer James Newton Howard, and with only five weeks to write nearly 3-hours of music, his result is surprisingly resilient and effective.

skull island escapee wrote:I saw the film 13 times at the theater Tim...Most films have boring bits in them--it's quite natural. A 3-hour movie is almost guranteed to have even more boring passages, and in the case of KK 2005, I feel these occur during the first hour, which I usually skip, as they are Kong-free. I have no real desire to keep watching Jack Black's acting prowess repeatedly, when I have the option to skip ahead to the events of battling beasties later on, which I am happier to watch repeatedly.
