The experience for ordinary, admission paying attendees may prove to be a bit different. My wife and I stopped by the Marriott Friday at 6:30 PM, with the intention of enjoying the opening night activities. Then we caught sight of the long, stationary queue of people, snaking from the entrance, around the side of the convention center and all the way to the rear of the property. Past experience with this venue told me that we would have at least an hour wait before even getting close to the entrance. As it was miserably cold and raining outside, we reluctantly turned heel and decided not to attend. An online advance purchase system, for e-tickets, should be put into place for future shows. In an age when you can print your own tickets, it seems unreasonable to me that long waits for admission should continue to plague Monsterpalooza. Linwood Sasser

Linwood SasserThere is an advance, three day ticket purchase system available. There is a dedicated entrance for the prepaid tickets around the side of the main convention center. Ticketing has been a problem in the past, but the last two years have been much improved. I was in a very short will call line having prepaid for my ticket. There was a canopy erected in that area to keep us dry while waiting.

It must be mentioned that this year's official souvenir program has to be the best program book for a monster convention/show I've ever seen! It is more of a magazine, rather than a program book, and is 34 pages thick (not counting the covers). The staff really did an outstanding job and kudos to the following are in order:

Again this year, in what seemed like double the space, what seemed like double the attendees marveled at Wonders too numerous to mention (photographic evidence provided in other threads.) In four short years, Eliot Brodsky (and family) have successfully mated a "fan convention" with a "professional enterprise": their fabulous creation is a genuine Vasaria where both industry people and Just Plain Folks of all ages can chat and buy and gawk and share. MONSTERPALOOZA, which (so far) can be found only in its native California, will surely be featured in the next edition of the best-selling book, "100 Things To Do Before You Die." (That's "Die ... dead," not "Die ... live.")
