Brooks who were best known for Mae West's songs "They Call Me Sister Honky Tonk" and "I'm No Angel". The prologue was directed by Colton Cronin who, I think, was involved with burlesque shows.

One of the performers died that Autumn from injuries earlier suffered during the March 10 earthquake (and while in rehearsal). Is Mark Thomas McGee still around? I had a question for him related to Kong material in his book Beyond Ballyhoo, and have been trying to reach him though others, but nothing to date.

I'd say it's more likely the guy at the microphone (on the left) in the Anita Louise/Tom Brown first-nighter photo shown above. I've seen him in some Grauman opening-night newsreels of the time. Might have been a Grauman assistant or somebody with NBC.
