In the captures below you'll notice that there are cables, cameras and crew clearly visible for a few seconds at the left hand side of the screen. I think the fellow stood on the yellow box is a camera man, not sure about the one in the white suit. Even if the funds had been available, I doubt the schedule would've allowed them to do the whole thing again. It's unthinkable that this went unnoticed during post-production. It's common knowledge that this picture was beset by various problems - perhaps by the time this !+-up came to light Jimmy Sangster was almost past caring. I read somewhere that shortly after LUST'S release he and Ralph Bates ducked into a cinema in London and were aghast at just how bad the film had turned out. At least they saw the funny side.

Mar 19 12 9:31 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I doubt money had anything to do with the 'Lust for a Vampire' goof, If they did notice it in editing (and they must have) they could have just cut it out afterwards or covered it up with a different shot, or quite simply not use that bit of film. There seems to be plenty of coverage, so why bother reshooting? Like Dracsback said...sloppy filmmaking.

Mar 19 12 2:27 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I can't recall the LUST goof mentioned in Wayne Kinsey's Elstree Years or any of the small number of Hammer books I've read that cover this movie. I think it's worthy of comment because it seems to encapsulate the overall impression of shoddiness that one is left when the end credits roll.

Mar 19 12 4:42 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I reckon they did spot it but assumed the shot was so fleeting that no-one would notice and probbaly didn't have any cover shots to use instead. I certainly missed it on the first viewing and only spotted it after it was pointed out on a forum like this. I've seen worse in bigger budget films - the early Bonds are notorious for bloopers like these. In Goldfinger an unexplained dead body can be briefly seen lying on the floor in the final fight between Bond and Goldfinger in the plane (casualty of a fight presumably edited out of the final cut) and in Thunderball the image has been flipped during the chase around the junket fete and you can see background signs are the wrong way round.

Patrick Troughton and his chariot-driving son swing around and momentarily reveal this crew van plus rummaging crewmember. Mar 20 12 3:34 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Viking Queen is also supposed to be the one in which a character can be seen wearing a wristwatch but I've never managed to spot this and think it is an urban myth (several actors wearing some form of bracelet). Actually, when Goldfinger enters the cabin, you can see the guy standing behind him. Yes - I think they've even blown that shot up to try and hide most of him. They must have wanted to cut that fight out very badly. None of the commentaries or documentaries mention it (the Golden Gun blooper I think is referred to in one of the DVD extras).
