Feb 19 12 5:35 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	How about H.G.Lewis? What do you figure is his worst? There are some really bad ones, but I,m going with The Gruesome Twosome. That intro with the styrofoam heads was added to get the film to a releasable length according to the dvd commentary.

Feb 19 12 9:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	It's hard to tell. Stuff like that intro is what makes his movies interesting. They all have their share of bad acting. The gore is uniquely primitive to the point where it's almost impossible to take it seriously. I first became interested in him through a dvd review of his movies in Monsters From The Vault. I'd have to say Taste Of Blood is the worst cause it really is like watching paint dry. Moonshine mountain is saturated with so much hillybilly music that there really isn't much of a plot. So I'd say that ranks up there too with Taste and Monster a-go-go,which may have the worst ending ever in a movie. Outside of Moonshine mountain and She Devils On Wheels,I haven't seen any other Non-horror entries of his. Even though it's ridiculous and sticks out like a sore thumb,you never forget the styrofoam heads. He still was a better director than Jerry Warren,and outside of Monster a-go-go,his movies are better than Creeping Terror IMO. Creeping Terror has,I think,the worst monster ever in a movie. Even worse (dare I say it?) than The Giant Claw.

Mar 16 12 1:11 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I hadn't seen this until last night. Don't remember it playing on TV years ago. I see it has drawn a lot of interest here. My own take is it is pretty bad, with a really tacky monster, but withal endearing and fun to watch. The director did seem to have a fetish about women being swallowed head first to the waist with their legs out and kicking and their panties showing. Hmm. Probably sold a few extra tickets. On the narration--my guess is this probably helped, as the actors would have proven ineffective delivering the lines. The narrator at least did okay with his voice of authority turn.

I don't think I've ever seen a monster movie with a lot of narration that was considered good. Further proof is BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS and THE ASTOUNDING SHE MONSTER,although I'd say they're more entertaining. IMO,Creeping Terror is a bit dull. At times it moves at the same speed the monster did. But it does have it's moments.

For example, that diversion into the necessity of boys moving from male to female bonding, all delivered with the sobriety of a classroom lecture, while the hubby and wife were getting it on just struck me as hilarious. I know it had nothing to do with the plot and was just filler. I also broke up with the scene of the mother taking her baby's temperature rectally. What exactly did that have to do with anything? And then there was that bit after the monster has gorped down half the cast, they cut to the hubby and wife getting it on during his "break." I understand where he was coming from, the two of them just back from their honeymoon, but it did seem that his county was in rather dire danger for him to be dragging his wife about to neck out in the shade somewhere. And the way the second monster bit the dust when it was rammed by the auto. I don't necessarily find every crummy movie funny, but this one did tickle my funny bone quite a bit-all unintentially I think. I also was amused by the Colonel wearing a star on his helmet. Also a star so large that it would be easily spottable by snipers a mile away. Officers generally do not want to broadcast they are officers when in the field, but of course one might argue there was no danger from this rug monster, but how would he have known that? About the whole evils of bachelorhood; the narrator says that the one guy resents his buddie's relationship. Well,maybe it could be that they're making out heavily right in front of him. The whole fight scene at the dance (and the way it was edited) also had nothing to do with anything. I like how everyone moved to one corner of the hall to make it easy for the monster. And the yummy sounds it makes when eating people is priceless. But I've gotta say,the idea that it was a machine that was gathering info about us and that the heroes were too late to stop it from transmitting was a good plot point IMO.

I corresponded with Lois a few years back while I was researching info about Carl Switzer. Her husband was a total prick from what I understand. Does anyone know what kind of drugs Arty and Carl Switzer may have been into during the late 50's? Lois told me she witnessed them using but didn't specify what they had. I assumed amphetamines, maybe weed,... were people snorting coke in Hollywood in the late 1950's? I'm back to researching about Switzer and these are some questions that I've had for years.

Does anybody else think that the Creeping Terror design may have influenced the design of Star Trek's "The Horta" creature from the original series? I was noticing that the surface of the creature was very similar to the shapes on the surface of the Horta, and of course the Horta also moved with "Creep-O-Vision", aka people under the suit.
