In The Skydivers, a man insults a woman by saying very slowly "You're a broad." Sure, the word "broad" CAN work as an insult without any adjective before it, but it doesn't work all that well. I used to know a girl who thought "broad" meant "prostitute". Maybe that's what Francis thought too.

I think this is the one and ony time I've heard the word 'cahoot' used in its singular form. This priceless bit of dialogue comes right after my favorite moment in the movie - when Sampson points to a diner with his lips.

I ran across this one purely by accident playing on one of the higher numbered Encore! channels the other day and decided to watch it, probably for the first time in 20 years. I had forgotten what a terrible laff-fest this was. Among the highlights are the kid attacked and wrapped up in a wiry cocoon by his braces (leaving him a little peep hole to act through) and Nelson swallowing the devil-possessed tequila worm, giving him a chance to grotesquely overact like nobody's business. Poor Dominique Dunne's character from the first film is never even mentioned, making this the most heartless case of a character getting 'Chuck Cunninghammed' I've ever witnessed.

Jan 26 12 12:43 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	A friend and i were struck at the hilarity of a line in THE CHILDREN,everybody's favorite bad zombie kid non-epic that USA Network used to play to death in the 80's. Not so much the line,but the way it is delivered.One of the protagonists is in the house under siege by the radioactive kids. he looks to his friend and says "Johnny..you have to cut off their haaaannddsss. That's where they're vulnerable!". It comes across as so idiotic a notion (chopping off not the head but the hands to kill something?) that i imagine it would be a huge howler in a movie theater. PIECES is my all time favorite horror film filled with asinine dialogue. It's really bursting at the seams with badly written nonsense,which i blame the dubbing team for as i watched the original language version and none of those classic zingers are there. My favorite is the police sgt. saying about the stalled murder investigation "Right now we're just buying clothes without labels and trying them on for size." The crack police work is further strengthened by the Lt. uttering the insightful "The killer is someone that is either on or near the campus!".

It actually goes something like this - "I found him looking through the reeds." "A reed-searching researcher?" Which is really a pretty clever line, so it's a shame it gets misunderstood.

Jan 30 12 11:19 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I know I've mentioned this somewhere else, but the only one I can remember actually laughing out loud at is from Silent Hill. The whole premise of that movie is a burnt-out city. The characters walk through the deserted streets while ash is falling continuously from the sky. Everything is burnt. About 3/4 of the way through, after the premise has been firmly established, the characters are looking for something in an office. They're crawling through the rubble and one of them says, "It looks like there's been a fire in here." I burst out laughing in the theater.
