My mother was a girl when THE SPIDER WOMAN was released and she told me that after they saw the movie, all the neighborhood kids had fun imitating the little walk/hop done by Larry (Teddy Infur), the strange little boy Gale Sondergaard brings to Baker Street to throw Holmes off the track.
I seem to recall an old cartoon from the era (Warner Brothers?) which features a crow or blackbird who does something similar... step, step, HOP, step, step, HOP.
My question is... which came first? Larry or the cartoon? And could one have influenced the other?
