And the original version of YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE is worth more than one spin. But if I never hear Anthony Newley's lounge lizard version of GOLDFINGER again, it'll be way too soon.

Where did you get it? I was listening to some live PJ Harvey today. Tomorrow I'll listen to AC/DC's Maximum Overdrive soundtrack, which is basically a selection of their hits plus a few new tunes, some instrumentals. A perfect Monster has no end...

Sep 7 11 9:31 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm currently digging the expanded Steve Allen/Ronald Stein soundtrack to A Man Called Dagger. Steve Allen signed my vinyl album years ago. He laughed when he first saw it ("This is the worst movie every made!"), but flipped then the jacket and marked a few of his favorite tracks, including the lovely "Melissa" The expanded version is available only as a download, and includes an amazing 29 previously unreleased tracks of Dagger sessions. Walter Scharf's score for The Geisha Boy and Angelo Badalamenti's Fire Walk With Me are spinning as well.

Sep 25 11 5:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Currently spinning on my cd player is Scherazade and Other Stories by the 70s progressive rock group, Renaissance, mostly because I saw them perform the record in concert last night in Newark's Prudential Center. Annie Haslam's voice has lost a bit of its range over the years but still they're in great form. They're American-based now with a line-up consisting of mostly Jersey boys. Even Haslam resides in Buck County, PA these days so only founding member Michael Dunford is needs to take the trans-Atlantic trip from his native England. I can't understand why this group never climbed higher on the charts given their exceptional songwriting ability. They were always one of my favorites.

And coincidentally, I was just on their web site yesterday (Saturday) and noticed how most of their current/recent dates had been in the North East.... which doesn't help us Kansas midwesterners. Renaissance would never come to KC...and if they did, they'd have trouble filling a cafe (people here just don't get it). Still amazes me that it's by Joseph LoDuca cause it's head and shoulders above most of his other work. Finished off by listening to Dead Can Dance- The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove.
