You’ve never heard of Leiningen Versus the Ants? It’s a classic. I thought everybody had either seen the Charlton Heston movie, read the original short story in school, or heard it read aloud around a campfire at summer camp.

Needless to say, the material had to be padded out a bit to make a feature-length film. THE NAKED JUNGLE added a "subplot" about Leiningen's tempestuous relationship with his mail-order bride (Eleanor Parker) that actually takes up more screen time than fighting the ants!

And doesn't that just suck.

Add a few musical numbers, maybe? Have the ants do Busby Berkeley routines?
