There are two strong light sources, one from above and one from below. For demo purposes, I've made one yellow and one blue. Places on the face where only one light reaches are either yellow or blue. Places where the lights both reach (and blend) are green. And the places where neither light reaches are violet. Although the underside of the brow is lit by the lower light, he ball of Strange's nose blocks the light in the middle of the brow making a shadow where neither the upper or lower light can reach. But the top of the nose and is lit by the upper light, making that odd, stand-alone shadow above the nose. Class dismissed.
