Sep 2 10 6:26 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thanks, glad you liked it. That was made in 1998, it had been years since I had done any filming of anything. The gorilla model was new, everything else had been around for ages. The T-Rex and gorilla were not built at the same scale, resulting in Kong being two inches taller, which is why he sits during the battle, for if he stood up, I think the Rex would have just walked away. The footage was shot on the new at the time, and very short lived, Ectachrome super 8mm film. I was horrified at the grainy results, but I had moved before I had the film processed, so there was no way to re shoot any footage, or all the footage, like I would have liked to do. Thanks for pointing it out to me as a support rod, I will have the editor fired for not catching that, and I am now digitally removing the rod from the film. Feb 18 11 4:20 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Did I ever tell you that Steve Kaplan made his own version of KING KONG called KONG! (1965) and THE SON OF KONG RETURNS (1966). Well here is information about Ken Dixon's KONG! (1966) Ken Dixon Ken was twelve years old when he was offered his first 8mm camera (a Kodak Brownie to $ 10) through which he immediately set about producing his first film "The Creature From Below" in 1962. After getting their hands on this movie 9 min with a brontosaurus its red garment and animated frame by frame, Ken then perfected his technique with "The Son of Tarzan" (1963) and "The Invaders" (1964) before tackling the myth of the giant ape Kong! Filmed in 8mm and color, this six minute film took six months of preparation and required the use of seven animated models whose construction took several weeks. Among the creatures displayed: King Kong, two tyrannosaurus, pterodactyl, a lizard and two snakes. The figurine of Kong was about 45 cm. Ken has also built two mountains for his film, a scene of two meters long and a massive wall and door. Kong! chronicles the life on Skull Island before the events taking place in 1933 in the movie RKO. The story merely align fight scenes when Kong is simply trying to survive as a prehistoric environment. Like his previous films, animation has been difficult for Ken, since his Kong was struggling to move and this, under lights, the heat was almost 100 degrees. At the end of filming, his model was in poor condition. And now some stills: Also, I found out that ten years ago, I was watching an episode of MOVIE MAGIC and it talked about the making of ALIEN RESURRECTION. It began talking about the life of the special effects technicians Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr. When they are talking about how Alec Gillis became a creautre effects man, it shows clips of his home-movies that were inspired by and based on the films that influenced them. One of them was of course KING KONG and they shown a clip. This looks like it was made between 1972 to 1974, because he was a teenager back then. I was surprised to see his rendering of the 1933 version! I have no stills or clips of this one. I would of taped it. Now here's one. KING KONG VS REPTILICUS by Michael Aguilar (1997) Michael Aguilar won second place in the amateur video contest organized by the G-Fest in 1997 (he finished first in 1996 with his "Godzilla vs. Lord Kronos"). The film opens with a short sequence in which Godzilla hosts Mickey in the Disney Channel and then continues with the confrontation of two titans. Reptilicus entered first and began attacking his misdeeds in a city. He eats a few people, destroying cars and faces both planes the Air Force and a battalion of tanks. Kong arrives and the two monsters engage in a duel to the death. Almost all the film has requested the use of stop motion and all those who saw it agree that this is much better Reptilicus animated than at its beginning on the big screen in 1963. Michael has brought a touch of humor in his movie but most of the battle is being treated seriously. A particularly successful scene combines the use of a real truck and his animated double dummy frame. The miniatures are very correct, both the buildings monsters. The soundtrack seems to be pulled and Reptilicus and King Kong Escapes. This is him in G-Fest 2010 I found a description from a magazine called MAD SCIENTIST. It is from the Fall of 2001 and it has Mechagodzilla on the cover. I looked him up on Google, and there is no information about him. Does anyone have info about this guy? It sounds interesting. I would like to know more about him. Well, that's everything. I hope you enjoy it.

The ending seems to be missing. Also, if you don't mind, what are you shooting in, Super 8? Any details would be welcome.
