Aug 31 05 1:31 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I don't have any studies to back me up, but in my personal experience, knowing lots of gay and straight men, they are either one or the other. This might be purely cultural- I've heard that in ancient Greece men routinely engaged in love affairs with other men (but this may have been mainly men with teenaged boys)- but outside of "experimentation" in college or while drunk, most men seem to settle on a preference for males or females, with only a few true "bisexuals", so that a graph of male sexual orientation would look like a lopsided dumbbell, with most on the heterosexual end, some on the homosexual end, and only a few in between. There's a lot of behavior that is hard to categorize on the gay/straight scale, and, especially in Mr. Price's time, it was impossible to be honest about sex. I think because of Vincent's sometimes plumby delivery and mannerisms, gays would like to claim him as one of their own, but I don't think you can judge a man's sexuality by his performances on screen.

Apparently, this obscene utterance actually made it to the final cut. Did he actually say what they say he said? It's as if it was taken at the end of the word to create a gag for on line listeners like us. I know this happened at ebaumsworld (or was it milk and cookies?). They claimed they had this audio taken from the live action Super Mario Brother's show where Mario, "drops the F bomb". But he's really saying "thank you". The audience laughter muffles it where one could take liberties that aren't there.

Nov 14 05 10:11 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The aspect that I liked about Mr Price is that he was having fun with his roles, even the Horror roles. This is a sense of humor in everything he did an actor thoroughly enjoying himself. I think that he had the depth and talent to make an Interesting Dracula. He was an irreplacable talent, truly one of a kind.

Aug 27 10 11:33 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	With regard to Vincent Price's alleged homosexuality, this issue came up over a year ago on another site and I mentioned I read an interview a few decades ago by muscleman actor Richard Harrison who was in Master of the World. He claimed he originally had a larger role, but Price brought his boyfriend to the set and introduced him to the director and he wound up getting Harrison's role. Harrison specifically said it wasn't Charles Bronson. Someone over there went through the cast list and concluded the only possibility was David Frankham, who appeared in two previous Price movies. The problem with this it seem unlikely Harrison would have been cast in Frankham's part because it was the weak male character who in the end loses the girl to Bronson. But it is probably the actor Harrison was referring to. But how did Harrison know he was Price's boyfriend? They might have been non-sexual friends and Price was merely suggesting an actor who was better suited for the part. Harrison probably heard the rumors and possibly made assumptions that may or may not be true.

When I used to read interviews with him, I'd find so much crazy misinformation that I just stopped looking at them. He talks about being a 20th Century-Fox star in the 1950s (name one movie, Richard!), he says he was discovered by Burt Ward (??!?!!? -- Burt Ward was probably 8 or 10 when Harrison started in the movies), he talks about being signed for the leads in various movies (I WAS A TEEN WEREWOLF, MASTER OF THE WORLD, etc.) but no one has ever found any back-up in trade papers, on and on and on. One thing he does, maybe to taunt the Nicholson family, is to mention regularly how much AIP president Jim Nicholson loved him, that he was Nicholson's favorite, etc. In real life, Harrison was married in the 1960s to one of Nicholson's daughters and (the daughter says) he beat her like a rug; one beating nearly cost her an eye. She has pictures of herself all smashed up, and doctor's reports; when he ran for mayor of Palm Springs several years ago, all this stuff was made public and he lost. Soooooooo ... when Harrison speaks on any subject, I'm always tempted to assume that what he says is the opposite of what happened, if anything happened at ALL.
