I first met Count Dracula..." I also liked to fill up their answering machines with the RCA Hercules album narrated by Conrad Nagel. I was so bad.

Sep 3 10 9:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Because DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE was the only Hammer Dracula shot at Pinewood Studios, for reasons unknown Hammer used another recording studio. The tapes from the sessions really do seem to be gone . They were not among the tapes rescued from the boxes of the late Hammer Music Supervisor, Philip Martell. Martell's daughter was going to sell the tapes off when her father died, but Hammer got wind of it and took them back. Gary Wilson of GDI discovered those boxes of tapes in Hammer Chief, Roy Skegg's office, while visiting him at the Hammer Elstree Studios offices. One thing to note about LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES (first off, while it has the LP materials, it also has most of the actual film score which does NOT appear on that Warner Bros LP) is I'm told Gary Wilson and GDI Records are no longer are involved in the Hammer music releases. Do not know why.

Apr 16 12 1:45 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Was pleasantly surprised to find copies of the GOLDEN VAMPIRES CD still available at Movie Music. Not only can I hear the score on its own, but I don't have to throw the DVD on if I just want to hear the audio dramatization with Peter Cushing. Great presentation. Wish they would do something similar with that Dracula story album Lee did for Hammer. (Not to be confused with the actor's earlier twin LP/CD adaptation of Stoker's original novel.) I know Cushing recorded a Frankenstein album for Hammer that never got released, but apparently the recording is lost. Too bad, as that would have been a good piece to pair with Lee's Hammer Dracula album for CD.
