Something striking that has occurred to me; films based on newspaper comic strips have less of a track record than those based on comic books. In recent
decades, Dick Tracy did passably well, but take a look at King Features Syndicate's track record:
Flash Gordon (1980)
The Phantom (1996)
Prince Valiant (1997)
Now admittedly, serialized adventure continuity strips from any company have produced fewer new examples in recent years (Modesty Blaise may have emerged as the last new one), but anyone have any other ideas as to the state of King Features Syndicate adaptations?
