I got 'em all beat. Check out La vuelta del Charro Negro (The Return of the Black Rider, 1941, Azteca Studios). It can best be descibed
as a horror-western-comedy-musical and completely enjoyable. The Black Rider is a western hero akin to the Cisco Kid, who typifies the charro, or dandy
cowboy. The villain is a mad scientist who has no problem killing his allies, let alone those who get in his way. He has an underground laboratory complete
with the upright coffins and mummified cadavers requisite in so many Mexican horrors. The movie has grave-robbing, murder, mad science, live burial,
subterranean crypt, female heroine, and some great mariachi tunes. I know of no copies that are subtitled in English, but it is fairly easy to follow. Amazon
has it on DVD.
