Jun 14 09 11:11 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Brett Piper has been plugging along for years, producing some admittedly low-budget, but entertaining films since the '80's..to his credit he has worked on such cult fare as RAIDERS OF THE LIVING DEAD(1985), A NYMPHOID BARBARIAN IN DINOSAUR HELL(1991) a Troma classic, THEY BITE(1996) an unreleased homage to Humanoids Of the Deep worth seeking out on gray market, DRANIAC(2000) a haunted house extravaganza that didnt see final completion until a few years ago, PSYCLOPS(2002), ARACHNIA(2003) a homage to big mutated bugs, SCREAMING DEAD(2003) a haunted house opus set in an real abandoned insane asylum & starring B-movie queen Misty Mundae, BITE ME!(2004) a comedy involving alien insects invading a strip-club and goverment investigators, SHOCK-O-RAMA(2005) a anthology of sci-fi/horror tales with a '50's slant to them and featuring Misty Mundae as a parody of a b-movie actor, BACTERIUM(2006) a sci-fi tale of germ warware gone wrong in the rural U.S. and most recently SPLATTER BEACH(2007) a really low budget parody of the Humanoids From the Deep/Gill-Man/Monster Of Piedras Blancas/Horror Of Party Beach genre.. These movies are not high art, but they are entertaining to see some interesting stuff on an independent level. Are there any other fans of his work out there?

I saw it years ago when it played on the syndicated series NIGHT FLIGHT and was duly impressed. That's where I think I first saw it as well..I got the VHS version of it around 1997 and still have it..I think it was released on DVD but is now out of print. I would love to get a DVD copy! It's pretty inventive(as are most of Brett's films) and it's definetly got heart as you put it. Gotta give kudos for trying.

From it's '50's sci-fi/horror homages done in anthology-style to its' wonderful-looking ladies, it seems to score on all levels. You're right about that dream sequence: it does resemble something Tim Burton would use in his films and that's not a bad thing.

It was written. produced and directed by Mark and John Polonia (sadly, John's last film). Mark and I are currently co-producing MUCKMAN.

Muckman has had more than its share of problems, stemming almost entirely from two of our "actors" bailing on us after the first two days of filming of a six day shoot. It threw our entire schedule out of whack with the result that we only finished principal photography two weeks ago! Post production effects and editing are underway now. As for when it'll be completed........

Incidentally, I think he also directed BATTLE FOR THE LOST PLANET, aka GALAXY, aka GALAXY DESTROYER - or am I wrong?
