Jun 6 09 1:31 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Too many great movies. Had to pick 7th Voyage of Sinbad because of the impact it made on me as a kid & still does. My all time favorite 50's movie is Earth vs. the Flying Saucers because it's one of the first two movies I ever saw in a cinema & supposedly had me looking out the car window on the way home for wayward saucers. My Dad took me to the Rossville for a double feature of that & The Werewolf in 1956 when I was four years old & the experience changed me forever. Dad often said he it was a mistake he wished he'd never made since it turned me into a rabid horror/sf/movie fan forever. Life sure would have been a lot less fun if he hadn't!

Aug 28 11 12:39 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	While I think I voted for THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, and would have voted a year or so back for CURSE OF THE DEMON, I recently purchased and watched FORBIDDEN PLANET. I don't know if I had ever seen the widescreen version. While THE THING, DEMON, THEM, and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL are strong films, I do believe PLANET is the most interesting of all of them today and the best sci-fi movie produced in the fifties.

The catholic grade school I went to used to show movies on the big screen in their huge auditorium (usually stuff like Song of Bernadette or King of Kings...you know, propaganda). For some reason they brought this one in when I was in the second grade and it BLEW ME AWAY! I've been a life-long fan of Ray Harryhausen and Bernard Hermann ever since. Not sure how this got passed the nuns, unless they were just trying to scare us senseless for the rest of the week.

I just list my top five: The Curse of Frankenstein - arguble as good as the original of 1931! The Horror of Dracula - I have on DVD Seven Voyage of Sinbad - Love the special effects! The Fly House of Wax - or the Creature! The Mummy 1959 could of made it, but I never seen the whole thing yet
