I totally agree with you. The scene in which Sutherland returns to the cleaners and the husband tells him "she better now...much better now" always gave me the heebie-jeebies. Especially that glare that the couple give him. Brrrrr!!! Gives me the creeps just thinking about it... Speaking of INVASION I've always enjoyed DIRTY HARRY because of it shares a couple of links with INVASION. Such as director Don Siegal directing the original IOTBS going on to direct DIRTY HARRY and making an appearance in the remake of IOTBS. And of course both IOTBS and DIRTY HARRY are filmed in San Francisco (which is of special interest to me as I was born in SF and live very close). Also both films feature somewhat avant-garde scores (it's a shame that INVASION is composer Denny Zeitlins only work to date...it's very effective). Not to mention both films have a certain "look" that seem to be popular in alot of 70's movies. Though it's not a horror movie DIRTY HARRY almost feels like one. Plus Andy Robinsons "Scorpio" (while not a physically imposing man) is scarier than any ghost or ghoul I've seen . His laugh gives me chills every time.

MAGNUM FORCE appears to display a fairly serious issue with its saturation of purer blue objects in frame (at least on the Blu-ray, at least on my PS3). They don't 'degrade' properly - whether into shadow or out of focus - they continue to 'pop' well past the point they should recede. Very unnatural. It's a pretty alarming effect reviewers so far don't seem to be picking up on. If you'd be willing to check yours (the SD DVD, correct?), there's a shot of Eastwood during the shooting contest with Hal Holbrook out of focus in the background, wearing something blue (I forget whether it's just his tie or his whole outfit - it was a Netflix rental). If the problem is on yours, it'll jump out of the screen at you in that shot...
Yep, I see what you mean about the blues in the shooting contest scene (I just popped in my Standard DVD from my set). Holbrook's blue shirt is so vibrant it's almost glowing. Saturated indeed. David Soul's blue shirt is also blinding in the same scene.
That being said, this is a small potatoes issue to me. The films look awesome overall.

The scene take place in the blinding sunlight, so a lot of the colors seem saturated to me (like Harry's red shirt at times). That being said, this is a small potatoes issue to me. The films look awesome overall.
