Why is this man so terrified...?!
Because, you guessed it...the Classic Monster Art Challenge for August is...
GODZILLA!
Yes, he's been bustin' bonzai and takin' names for over half a century, making him the longest running science fiction film character in history.
So our challenge this month is to pay tribute to this radioactive reptile in the medium of your choice. Any incarnation of the Big G is acceptable, from the
original GOJIRA through his "good guy" phase right up to his most recent "badass" persona. Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah, etc. are NOT candidates
here, since they will surely have their own challenge somewhere down the line - but Mecha-Godzilla is okay.
So send the streets of Japan into a frenzy and start sketching!

The fact that theres a whole family of zombies out there that choose let us enjoy the artwork they do, rather than just having them shamble about eating brains
is amazing. Great work ZD and Jen. I'd say keep it up but for Zd to post any paintings, any more quickly, would require him working on two at a time with
both hands and feet going all at once. ZD I've pm'd a common friend about this. Your joy of painting and posting is contagious.

And, very nice Dr. and Sister, Jen! I hadn't seen the movie until recently, what a hoot! And, you've captured both sides of the split persona! And, next month is Godzilla? Gee, when Frank said that next month's subject was going to be big I thought it was going to be Kong---or Pamela Anderson. Never suspected it would be the 'zilla! |

Hey gang!! Sorry I haven't been around much these days, but internet's pretty slow in my room at camp, so I've only been managing to leave the odd
comment here and there (as opposed to everywhere, like I do when I'm back at home...).
Anyway, let me start off by saying that the last minute entries for July's challenge of the month are simply fab!! Dr. Kokai, that March Hyde is outstanding!! Once again, you've successfully machinated to exhume yet another masterpiece from Mr. Marvel's ever evolving catacomb of Horror!! "I'll show you what horror means!!" Well, you have, my friend, you have... You've really captured Hyde at his degenerate best!!! I loves it! Frank, I love that charcoal pencil sketch of a smirkin' "Hyde about town". Flawlessly executed, sir. By the way, I do plan on watching Mr. Redfield's Jekyll and Hyde as, coincidentally, I brought it along with me at camp. Rich a Fuschia, the bold colours from your earlier Barrymore entry are superb. And you did this in Corel draw? Jen, I love all of your work. But that Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde of yours is gonna cost me money this time. It's making me want to order that film and make it part of my Hammer collection once and for all! Can't wait to see the Godzilla entries guys!! ZD, with you at the helm, Godzilla DOES Raid Again!! And Kez, your Dancing Zilla just put a smile on my face. Now I can go to bed happy
