My favorite horrific music video would either be for SPK's nausea-inducing "Despair" video or Skinny Puppy's wonderful "Spasmolytic" video, directed by Jim Van Bebber. Oh, if only Oneiroid Psychosis had done some music videos! Don't forget Nine Inch Nails' broken. Or Keith Richards chasing Mick Jagger around with a chainsaw in The Rolling Stones' underrated "Too Much Blood" (which also featured a clip from BASKET CASE). Or The Stones' "Neighbors" which featured a hacksaw murder seen from an open window ala REAR WINDOW. Ric Ocasek's head on a little fly in The Cars' "You Might Think" (which also featured Ro-Man!). The most bang for your buck is featured in Skinny Puppy's "Worlock" video, which is comprised entirely of horror film scenes. I haven't seen The Ramone's "Psychotherapy", but it was truncated for MTV play. (05/08/08 1:04 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	In about 1981-82 Greg Khin released a video for the song "JEOPARDY" (directed by Joe Dea) which featured all sorts of zombies, corpses, mutated Siamese twins, and a large tentacle creature that bursts through the floor. I actually did special effects and make-up on this one (popping in for a couple quick cameos in my Dawn Of The Dead shirt) and I was nominated for Best Special-Effects in a Rock Video that year. It predated THRILLER zombie-wise and "JEOPARDY" is still cited as one of the most influential from the early MTV video days. Me being on board also served to give Khin some of the street cred he wanted in the Horror and Punk/New Music community, because I'd been one of the people who spearheaded the Horror Rock/Horror Punk genre in 1977 with my band SID TERROR'S UNDEAD. THE CRAMPS, THE DAMNED, and THE MISFITS (we started on separate coasts within weeks of each other) are credited as the bands that started the Horrorpunk genre which is huge and still growing today, 30 years later. I'm also credited as the guy who coined the phrases "Death Rock" and "Horror Punk". The success of JEOPARDY (still one of the most run videos in MTV history) got me onboard for the entire series of Greg Khin videos that followed, all directed by Joe Dea... "REUNITED" was Wizard Of Oz theme with all the classic main characters, plus Flying Monkeys, Munchkins and etc. In fact we very nearly got Margaret Hamilton to reprise her wicked witch role, but due to a scheduling conflict and deadline we had to shoot without her. I popped in for a cameo as a Flying Monkey. Greg Khin's "LUCKY" followed that with a KING KONG and Kong Island theme. For this one I sculpted the KONG head, hands, chest and feet which were added to a suit (which I was not happy with due to budget and time constraints) built by Mike Butler who had been one of the costumers on the 1966-68 BATMAN tv series. I also got to play Kong, as I was the guy in the suit. It should also be noted that when he was a kid Khin's saxophone player was a neighbor of Bela Lugosi, so we had plenty to talk about! "BOYS CAN'T LEAVE THE GIRLS ALONE" was the last of the Khin video series I worked on, building two full costumes that resembled a cross between two skinless medical corpses and the old Visible Man model kit. Yep, I made a cameo in this video too, with my UNDEAD vest clearly visible. Also seek out the "PLAN 9, CHANNEL 7" video by THE DAMNED, which is an excellent homage to PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE. My band has also done several videos over the last 30 years... I WAS A TEENAGE VAMPIRE, MAD JACK, HALLOWEEN 365, ZOMBIE ARMY, THE EARTH DIES SCREAMING, SINISTER URGE, and several others. For my money, the best horror themed videos coming out right now are from a Finnish band called LORDI... "BLOOD RED SANDMAN" (a homage to Evil Dead), "HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH" (zombie cheerleaders and demons attack and possess a high school), "THE DEVIL IS A LOSER" (demons invade a dance club) and others, all available on YouTube. If you haven't heard about LORDI already, WOW, they are about the best new tongue-in-cheek costumed horror band in a long time... Get thee to YouTube and prepare yourself for the "Day of ROCKening" the aROCKalypse has arrived! Oh, and I'd be in trouble at home with the girlfriend if I didn't mention the Marilyn Manson video for THE FIGHT SONG, which she appears in as one of the mega hottie "Satan's Cheerleaders". ...TERROR Last Edited By: Sid Terror 05/08/08 1:14 AM. Speaking of Kate Bush - The Dreaming has some cool fantasy/horror atmosphere, and there is a direct quote from Night of the Demon in Hounds of Love. Terry Gilliam fairly famous directed the Cloudbusting video, about Wiilian Reich's weird theories. I hadn't seen a Cradle of Filth video, but this is one for Nymphetamine
