She's in an "actors' home"-type place in New Jersey -- the same place where I once visited and interviewed Pamela Duncan (Imogene Coca was also there at that time). I'm under the impression that Susanna's memory is not the best any more, that she wouldn't be "up" to going to any of the various cons. I've never called or visited because she certainly wouldn't remember me; Mike Brunas and I took her out to dinner and interviewed her in the late '80s, and when I saw her at a "Universal Players Reunion" party just a year or two later, already she didn't know me from Adam. (The same way I'M not gonna remember diddly if/when I get to be that age.)

When we interviewed her, I didn't have enough yellow journalist in me to bring it up. She was real nice, and she needed me asking about that like Custer needed more Indians.

(07/22/08 12:45 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	Hello, I'm a long time lurker, I thought I might chime in here, as I know Susanna. She went into mental decline a few years ago, the hour + phone conversations we used to have went down to a few minutes, and then she had a breakdown altogether. Why, I don't know.Her son had her moved to the Actor's Home in Engels New Jersey. Sadly, it might have been better to leave her in California as she had several friends out there and the interaction couldn't have hurt. She did in fact live in her car for several months back in the 80's, she had been living out east and just packed all she had and Chika (sp?) the dog and drove back to California.It wasn't a sore spot for her at all, she was quite proud of it. There are several little video vignettes her son put together on her and her ex husband Wilbur Evans on you tube, or at least were. Her son seems a bit bitter, but it does have quite a bit of information about her for those who might be interested.
