It just so happens that "The Adventure of the Lover's Leap" was one that I watched. Yes, so much fun and such great casts. The period detail is excellent, especially for a weekly TV show. The other episodes I watched were:

The Adventure of the Mad Tea Party (Edward Andrews, Jim Backus, Rhonda Fleming, Julius Harris, Julie Sommars, Larry Hagman.)
The Adventure of the Chinese Dog (Orson Bean, Geraldine Brooks, Murray Hamilton, Robert F. Simon, Jerry Fogel, Dee Wallace in a tiny bit, Eugene Roche)
The Adventure of the Pharaoh's Curse (Simon Oakland, Nehemiah Persoff, June Lockhart, Ross Martin, John Larroquette in a tiny bit, Wallace Rooney)

I've got 20 of 22 episodes and would like to complete the set. Maybe there are some other EQ collectors who are also missing an episode or two and would like to trade? I'm missing:

The Adventure of the 12th Floor Express
The Adventure of Miss Aggie's Farewell Performance

I'll mention that the picture quality of what I have varies in quality. Some shows were taped at SP, some at LP, some at EP. Some don't have their entire title openings, some have commercials, most are edited. Anyhow, anybody who dealt extensively with taping shows off air understands the many little problems that cropped up. The DVDs I've burned so far look as good as many Alpha Video releases and other "unofficial" releases when projected up to around 50". I'm hoping to make a test on a 103" screen tomorrow night.

Btw, I'm going to be posting both here and at www.monsterverse.com/blog about many of these tape to DVD transfers.

The Possession Of Joel Delaney - a blind buy in the just ended DD sale that I don't regret. Good performances, offbeat and edgy and wonderfully un-PC. The unconvincing gore effects dilute the potency a bit, but it made for a good first half of a double feature last night.

They All Laughed - I love this movie. It's been sitting on my shelf since four DD sales ago, but last night the NYC setting made for a perfect chaser to Delaney. Not a great movie, but it always just hits me the right way.

The Skull- another DD sale blind buy, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. The potential was there but it wasn't realized for me. a mild regret.

The Mike Shayne Mysteries - finally got the urge to finish the set. Great fun.

Tread Softly, Stranger (R2) - Diana Dors in her prime in a very good Brit crime/noir. She has to be the most underrated blond bombshell of that era.

Knocked Up (Hd DVD) - first time seeing it. Enjoyed it quite a bit...though the general conceit did strain credulity often.

Batman Begins (HD DVD)

The Secret Invasion

The Leech Woman- disappointing given the potential in the premise

Chrome And Hot Leather- almost worth it to see uber bad-ass William Smith in his prime. Actually it was quite lame (Smith exempted)

Marie Antoinette - great performance by Robert Morely somewhat undermined by the need to shoe-horn in a more conventional marquee match-up between Schearer and Ty Power. Long, but Morely made it worthwhile

Three On A Match - brisk and gritty little pre-coder. First time seeing it. Good stuff.

Dark Shadows (collection 3) - wow! things are really accelerating in a big way. I'm taking this an ep a day and absolutely loving it! Had planned to quit after Vol 4 ( I started with the 1795 storyline in V5 and then went back to Vol. 1) but I'm digging this so much I'll likely keep getting a new set in every future DD sale.

Watched Planet of the Vampires last nite. I'd never seen it. I was just enjoying the sometimes cheesy/sometimes effective model and set work. Then something happened. This movie got insanely creepy. Really well done and needs a stronger reputation than it has in my opinion.

RONIN (for the Frankenheimer commentary) - This film has aged well

A PRAYER FOR THE DYING ('87) - Mike Hodges who did the original GET CARTER directs
Mickey Rourke, Bob Hoskins and Alan Bates (Liam Neeson here too). Good IRA/crime drama,
colorful conclusion.

THE MACHINE GIRL (Noboru Iguchi 2008) An absurd over the top anime style but live action
blood splattered ultra violent revenge fantasy. Japanese schoolgirl
with a machine gun arm vs Ninja Yakuza clan.
Much fun ensues. Not for wimps or people with good taste.

VIOLENT CITY ('70) Charles Bronson gets point blanked by Jill Ireland and lives just long enough
to get revenge. Telly Savalas participates, Sergio Solima directs, Lina Wertmuller co-writes screenplay.

MR MAJESTYK ('74) Bronson just wants to bring in his melons! Al Lettieri (also featured in THE GETAWAY)
looks like Jerry Stiller on steroids. Seriously this guy makes Frank Vincent look effete.

THE REAPING ('07) I didn't like it.

My 12 year-old daughter who likes to watch movies was in town so we had a movie marathon and watched:

Beowulf (2007) Something keeps drawing me back to this film. Unlike so many who didn't care for it, I keep getting more and more out of it each time I watch it.

Hot Fuzz (2007) My daughter gets a kick out of comedies and really enjoyed this one.

Blazing Saddles (1974) I told her that this was one of the funniest movies ever made but I have to say it wasn't as funny for me as the first few times I saw it in 1974. There's been a lot of stuff like it released in the interim.

Shoot 'Em Up (2007) My daughter likes action movies and this is one that I feel was overlooked by the public. Way over the top fun.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) One of my all-time favorites. It's held up over the years (for me) as a comedy, as a car crash movie, as a stunt spectacular and as a cinematic gallery jam-packed with dozens of my favorites movie/TV stars and character actors. Love the locations, cinematography and Ernest Gold's wonderful score.
