What clown ISN'T a positive role model? Besides Krusty, that is?

The thing that always scared me the most was the idea of Willard Scott as Bozo. I'm sure Mr.
Harmon did a great job in the role, but I never got to see him. Our local station had one of those imitation Bozos.
Legend, oh legend, the third wheel legend...always in the way.

Didn't he voice the cartoon? I remember one, with a Melinda character. There was a rhyming song or something, ending with; "on a rainy, rainy,
day." This leads me ask; is Butchy Boy still with us?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that Larry Harmon also held (with a pit bull's tenacity) the rights to the characters of Laurel & Hardy. It
seems he had gotten permission to use the characters from Stan Laurel and then just held on to them after Stan's death. Stan's daughter, Lois, had been
fighting Harmon for years over these rights. Her contention was that Stan signed over the rights to L&H for use in the cartoon series only, not in
perpetuity.

LS, I did mention that, on the first page.

And to confirm what LS mentioned, I have heard that Harmon was a bit of a hard-a** about the whole thing!

Harmon was indeed a hard a**, but not nearly as much of one as Willard Scott, as this clip ought to prove:

I grew up with Bozo on WGN Ch 9 with the late great Bob Bell. Larry Harmon definitely contributed to TV pop culture history. He also
produced Laurel and Hardy cartoons in the 60's with Stans involvement which met with mixed emotions with Laurel & Hardy fans everywhere. Later on they
would realize even the Laurel and Hardy cartoons were not as bad as that 1999 Larry Harmon produced Laurel and Hardy live action movie "The All New
Adventures of Laurel & Hardy in 'For Love or Mummy" with Gailard Sartain as
Ollie and (gasp) Bronson Pinchot as Stan! Who would
have ever thought Balki Bartokomous from "Perfect Strangers"
would help to destroy such a comedy team classic!
