One of the older magazines, The Monster Times (#8 is my avatar at present), is pretty much still going, in a way, in a different format. Joe Kane, the editor of most of the later issues, is now editor/publisher of Videoscope, which has been out for years and still going strong. Decent interviews and TONS of reviews -- VS has turned me on to a lot of movies that I hear little about anywhere else (Fessenden before he became more popular, and the movies Lightning Bug and Hell House to name a couple examples).
Unlike FM, which under Ray Ferry just lives in the past (and not a bad thing, necessarily!), Videoscope/TMT has changed with the times.
I agree with you one hundred percent, and if I had a spare $20,000 I would contact Joe Kane about reviving the Monster Times. That would be sweet.
