Isn't this "new" magazine really just the next two issues of Famous Monsters, as they were planned, but with a different title stuck on the cover
in place of the regular FM logo for legal reasons?

On the website I read, "FM #248 and FM #249 will be merged into the first 2 issues of SHOCK! in order to smooth the transition and maintain the series
continuity. FM #250 will be published as a stand alone hallmark issue. SHOCK! will then continue as a quarterly publication while Famous Monsters will be
published in a continuing series of Fearbooks and special issues."
This leads me to a question about the numbering. The first two issues of the 'new' magazine will be numbered #248 and #249, which would have been the numbers of the next two issues of Famous Monsters. If it continues, and since it says that there will be a Famous Monsters #250, will the third issue of Shock Theater Classics be #251? |

Hmmm...I gotta say that I think it would be MUCH better if thee was an actual Shock! Theater Classics #1. The sales impetus from a new number one can be
enormous, Connie! I hope you guys will consider adjusting the numbering.

to keep the FM logo on those issues. We had thought of printing some with FM248 and then FM249 on cover and some with STC1 and STC2 on the cover but figured
that would be too confusing and also too many people would want both and that just wouldn't be fair in all honesty . We may print a Special Edition STC
which would bear the number 1-A (or something similar after 250) but have not made that decision yet. The total flip to bring STC to the forefront and place
FM in a special spot all it's own will also bring with it a 3rd, even more exciting title that is totally different than FM. That will definitely start
with a number one and there will be a teaser about that on the website shortly. For us, it's not all about collectibility. It's about a magazine to
read and enjoy. We make our decisions based on that. I hope that isn't offense to anyone, but it's just how we feel about it.

Connie, number 1-A?? Talk about confusing! I DON'T think that would be a good way to do it! Sorry, just my thought.

I don't really think it will be as confusing as you want to think to most of our readers, but it's your thoughts and that's fine. Again, I was asked a question and I answered it with our thoughts on the matter, at this time, clearly letting you all know that some decisions have not been finalized yet. Okay, got places to go. Take care all, Connie

So, presently there is SFT 1 and 2 on the website. I'm wondering, who did the cover for #2, which everyone here (including me) seems to love. Seems a
little different from Arlis' other work.

It sure is different. I like most of FM's covers, but SFC 2 is REALLY good. And attention grabbing!

The SFC #2 art is from the RETURN OF THE FLY movie poster, yes?

Nice to finally see you, Connie, instead of a generic blue head, although you're still pretty ghostly looking.

Ferry's other new magazine is also up now. Called "Freaky", it's a comic style magazine. Doesn't look like much to me. I wonder who's
doing all the artwork for it?

I thought the cover art looked great and also the concept seems pretty good to me, it's something different from what Ray and Connie have done in the past.
I ordered my copy this morning. But you really can't judge until you actually look and read it .
I bid you Welcome!!!
