But your Kuzco is especially good, and I should know-- we watch that show all the time! Good job.

So far, I've finished four more like the two above, and I'll be adding them to the mix probably over the next two to three weeks. They include scenes from THE BAT, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN and THE GIANT BEHEMOTH. ZD

I tried scanning at work, but only half of the lines showed up. So I used a camera, a nice camera, and it still doesn't comes through all that great. She photographs my work with a digital camera. Then she is able to tweak things such as contrast values. This is probably what is making the difference in how the pictures come through. (07/01/08 10:54 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	love that drac ZD!! he looks really creepy! pardon me if I insist with bond, but I'm rather busy now and I can't produce new art for myself (and the CHFB!) and I have a lot of old bond stuff that I would like to share with you, hope you don't mind!. 1983 was the year of the battle of the bonds and here's my take on the two bonds films released that year, and a japanese Connery and his last official bond Diamonds are forever.

This was my first attempt on this blue construction paper. I found Gloria extremely difficult to draw. I completed three portraits and tossed each of them away. Couldn't get her likeness. After this one, I decided I'd gotten as close as I was going to get. What do you think? I think I'm too close to it to be objective anymore. Anyway, my real purpose here is to assure those of you who are finding it difficult to get the likeness you want , that you are certainly not alone! Now I have told myself that whenever I feel that I'm getting to cocky about my work, I just need to try drawing Gloria Talbott! ZD

I'm sure sometimes real women named Gloria can be difficult as well. Draw her again. See, that's the thing about difficult women, sometimes if you're persistant it can pay off. My outlook has always been that ya' never know until ya' try. Know what I mean, pal?

There is something about it that lands it in that form of art that is almost always changing. I look at it now and I think "yeah...that's really a nice picture". But then later, I can come back to it and think "oh...but I might change that part...". But then again, even later yet, I might come back and wonder what I sae exactly the second time. Then when I step to the side I might see something else. Your stuff has its own life and you definitely have your own style. If I had to find something to point out, it is simply what adds an air of "creepiness" to it. Split both sides of her face in half. Her right side is downright sinister looking, while her left side is absolutely beautiful! Both sides look great, but together they are a little...creepy. But that is exactly what I like about this one. This one needs to be hanging in a hallway in a big ol' haunted house. I mean that as a compliment, by the way. Frank, I always do the pencil first--with the exception of the 'white on black' ones. With the new cheaper construction paper (my budget can no longer afford anything else) it's almost impossible for me to see a pencil sketch on the black paper unless the light's hitting it just right. I try not to put too much strain on my 'diabetic' eyes these days. But I like the black on white, so I'm just diving in on these. The paper's cheap enough that I can discard a few if I have to. As for the 'Gloria'. This turned out to be an exercise in 'never give up'. By the time I finished her I had already thrown three away and I was getting very bleary-eyed. The 'feel' of drawing on this cheap paper is completely different from what I've been used to, and 'Gloria' was one of my first attempts. I'm getting more used to it now. Also I'm getting more used to working right off of a DVD still. The 'Gloria' was from a night scene and it was a little hard to work from. But I liked this expression and I'm a very stubborn old man now and....well, there you have it! She's not perfect, but I think I got something of her strange 'essence'. She's something like Barbara Steele--beautiful, but in a very strange way. A very hard likeness to catch. Have you ever tried her, Frank? Have you ever tried her, Frank? I'd love to see what you could do with a straight portrait of her. I have drawn Barbara Steele, for the Chiller Cheesecake calendar. Yes, she is tricky. I'm about to do one from BLACK SUNDAY, so we'll see how that goes. I haven't drawn Gloria yet, but I think you did capture her "essence."
