Carl the handyman gave me the creeps as a kid. I watched the film again not too many years ago and there is a nostalgia factor for me, but I've always
liked this little movie. I know one thing, I'd rather watch BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES (1955) a hundred times rather than squirm through THE ADVENTURES OF
SHARKBOY AND LAVAGIRL (2005) ever again. THAT was one of the most torturous, viewing experiences
ever.

Just watched the DVD last night - First time I've seen it since I was a kid. For some reason I've always kind of liked it. I love lonely desert
settings for one thing. I never realized that was Dick Sargent until last night! Partly nostalgia I'm sure, but It still held my interest this time around.
Where was this shot? Cool palms setting! Reminded me of GARDEN OF ALLAH.
I certainly understand why some hate it, it's not a "good" film by any means, but I'll keep the disc - might have one more viewing in it for me before I die. SAM33 |

Reminded me of GARDEN OF ALLAH.I'm not questioning your opinion, just noting that I never expected to see a comment such as this anywhere near a discussion of BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES. |

This was shot near Indio, California, which lies between Palm Springs and the Salton Sea. |

BEAST was shot at "the O'Rourke Date Ranch" in the Coachella Valley.

So Tom, can you direct me to the Coachella Valley and the big carrot festival therein? I took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. Bugs33

You can't get there from here. |

Tom wouldn't know the best way to the Coachella Valley, he's on the East Coast; the place where they have those strange trees that actually
"change colors" during the year. Whoa! Now that's scary...

After years of observation and scientific anal-ysis, I'm prepared to announce that the wind seems to blow just as hot in the East as it does in Coachella
Valley.

Bugs Bunny was once trying to get to the Coachella Valley and the great carrot festival therein.
Indio is a fairly good-sized town, and it is in the Coachella Valley. |
