Last year when Paul McCartney was in NYC, a gracious friend - from Berlin! - gifted me with a ticket. First-Gen Beatles fan that I am, I was tickled at the
idea of just seeing a Fab in person...
It went WAY beyond that. The man, When He Was 64, blew the Garden's doors off. Was on stage 2 hours, and showed off major chops. Best, -Craig W. |

Yes Tour cancelled | ||
|
The Yes tour for this summer was cancelled due to Jon Anderson's health. He suffered an Asthma attack last month and the Dr's told him not to tour for
at least 6 months. He was also diagnosed with repository failure
I was going to see them here in Kansas City Aug 6th I was going to buy tickets when my stimulus check showed up in 3 weeks, damn I am disappointed. But understand. I guess one way too look at it I saved over $100.00 .
I bid you Welcome!!!

I am in a band and get to play with lots of young bands (and i mean young! I am the oldest one in my band at 34 and we play with punk bands consisting of 14-15
year olds once in awhile). So,i get to see lots of bands for free and i must say,the most inspiring musical sight i have seen in awhile was the scene in the
Ramones documentary "End of the Century" where,in grainy BW footage, the Ramones take the stage and tear through "Judy is a Punk" at
breakneck speed while the crowd sits and watches, seated in chairs and not knowing what they are seeing and the Ramones are clearly oblivious to the audience.
Imagine playing to an audience who has never heard your STYLE of music before ,let alone your songs! Its an amazing sight to see, four people playing for the
sheer love of it while a room full of people don't quite understand what they are doing. Every time i see that footage it makes me want to play. Its says
something when 30 year old video footage inspires you more so than most live bands you see.
The greatest thing about the Ramones, songs aside, was how they would tour and after every show, several bands would form almost overnight. I know when i heard incredibly technical bands as a youth,i didn't immediately find three other guys and start covering their material the next day haha. I would say "Sounds great and way above my league!" |

Last Thursday I attended the Rod Stewart concert in Tampa, Fl.
The old boy has still got it. He performed at an amphitheatre in hot muggy weather Florida weather. I'll tell ya I don't think I could have sung and danced around the stage like that for 90 minutes (and he's pushin' 60!). They'd probably have to call 911 for me after 15 minutes. He still looks great and put on a terrific show. Next month I'm taking in another Tony Bennett show in Orlando. Taking my daughter to that one too. I'm hoping to score a couple of Tina Turna and Neil Diamond tickets, but so far they seem to be veeeery pricey. I may not go unless I want to buy nosebleed seats (which I don't). Cromwell |

Going to see the ever-delightful Liz Phair tonight..she is doing the whole "EXILE IN GUYVILLE" album live in honor of the album's 15th
anniversary. I've seen her several times in the past, but you cant beat this kind of show for $25.00 tickets..quite a bargain!

My favorite musician in the world, and a friend to boot. Nobody rocks it like Jim Heath, "the Reverend Horton Heat", still rockin' after all
these years.
I never miss a Rev concert!
Here is a rare clip, opening in Dallas for the Stray Cats back in the 90s... |

Um... off topic.... but the other day I was re-watching the deleted scenes on the DOCTOR WHO season 3 box set when it finally dawned on me that the long
rambling shpeal about the "best gig ever." are actually add libbed personal recollections of David Tennant himself. Off the top of my head I forget
what band, but it was 1992 and it was the best concert David Tennant ever saw.
