The Picture of Dorian Gray head that Forry has at home (which can be still seen during his open houses every Saturday at 11 a.m.) was -- if I
remember correctly -- from a 1961 episode of one of the anthology shows of that season.
Famous Monsters of Filmland ran a nice piece on the show and Dick Smith's makeup back in the day, and I believe that Scarlet Street's special Dorian Gray issue of more recent vintage also covered the program. I'll try to look it up. The IMDB lists two small-screen versions of The Picture of Dorian Gray from that year, one for Armchair Theatre (with a very young Jeremy Brett) and one from Golden Showcase (with Sean Garrison as Gray, plus Louis Hayward and George C. Scott). Neither of those sounds right to me, but it's more likely the latter or possibly even another show altogether. The show was produced by David Susskind, who also produced Smith's other centerpiece, WAY OUT (which was also featured in another FM issue). Of course, who
could forget a face like this:

I'm >pretty< sure that Forry's Dorian head came from the 1961 TV production starring Sean Garrison.

That is correct. It ran on the CBS network in December, 1961.

Or perhaps some sort of tumorous growth. Keep in mind, this is meant to represent the old Gray, as he has aged, with all of his malignancies etched to the
painting over the years.

I'm going with Jelly-Bellys, definitely.

I'm really happy that DORIAN GRAY is finally being released. Once that is released, along with THE WALKING DEAD and the other stuff coming out this
Halloween, there isn't much left in the true "classic" category. I wish Uni would finally release ISLAND OF LOST SOULS and their other Paramount
horror properties(along with their own minor but fun flicks like THE MAD GHOUL and HOUSE OF HORRORS). I hope that they weren't lost in the fire.

Now that it's official that this will be a stand-alone release, I'm just wondering -- what are the chances of getting a "horror set" with THE
WALKING DEAD, FRANKENSTEIN 1970, and THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS?

As far as the next set is concerned, I have a bad feeling about BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS. I have a *good* feeling about WALKING DEAD and FRANKENSTEIN 1970.
Other titles being kicked around as possibilities, the last I heard (about two weeks ago), were YOU'LL FIND OUT, ZOMBIES ON BROADWAY and the 1966 Patrick
O'Neal CHAMBER OF HORRORS. Titles I heard being kicked around in the more distant past were PHANTOM OF THE RUE MORGUE and the DARK SHADOWS movies (!!).
