I met a friend who is a huge Lou Reed fan, and at the time he worked at a record store and when Metal Machine Music was offered he took in 25 copies.
Came the day and he put it on the truntable, and discovered it was just over an hour of electronic noise, something Reed did to fulfill a contract with a label he hated.
I will never forget the stunned looks of the customers as they actually expected music!!!!
He picked the LP up, got the 25 copies and reboxed them to be returned.
They must have lost a lot of money on that one, yet it never adversely affected Lou Reed at all.
Anyone remember this fiasco, or does someone out there think this was good.
I actualy have heard people praising this!!!
A new stray. I hope Black Cats are good luck.
