I knew a fellow who had harness racing Horses and he told me a lot of horror stories of what these creeps would do to win a 5000 dollar race. So you can well imagine what they would do in the big time. Poor Horse at least now shes in a big field with the other Animal Angels and noone will ever exploit her again.

The fellow I mentioned had a horse Patty Perdoo who was a big winner, and made his family quite a bit of moey in a three year span. But they ran her too often, and sold her to a fellow in the US who ran her until she pulled up lame, and she was then pet food. I guess this happens a lot in horse racing.

I'm excited that the Cards are doing so well because they weren't expected to contend this year. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year with several new, young players. It is only May however. Anything can happen, but I'm loving this season right now.

But its a long long season and as the Late Tug McGraw said You gotta believe!!! The Pet Angel are there for the Pizza, and Cheeseburgers , but I still say GO CUBS GO. It is always a season full of drama with all the ups and downs, the wins and losses. I get so mad I can't see straight, but then the next night I jump for joy. Nothing like it. It is the greastest sport ever invented in my book. Maybe the Jays too who are getting great pitching. Not to mention they now have the left side infield of the 06 World Series winning team. That can't hurt.

If they click together and they get a DH who can hit, things could be interesting in the AL East. And Tampa Bays finally got a team that may not lose 100 games , its a shame noone living there cares.

Scott Kazmir, James Shields, Matt Garza, Edwin Jackson....not too shabby. I truly believe worse case scenario for them, they'll be fourth, bu third and (gulp), MAYBE second is a possibility. Can't see them falling behind Baltimore, who are coming back down to earth. As for Toronto, same thing every year as of late. Great team on paper, mediocre on injuries and execution. Scum!

What a heartbreaker the second game was. Cliff Lee pitched nine innings of shut out baseball and even if the Tribe had won he would have gotten a no decision for the effort. Both games today were classic pitching duels. Meanwhile, thank goodness the AL Central has been awful in the early season. As bad as the Tribe has played we are only a game and a half back.

They've score like three runs in 25 innings or something. Boston is outrageously strong; the Yankees are probably in better shape than they were last year at this time, but it truly looks like they won't hav eth juice this time. But they won a game.

But year after year they pull through and it will be interesting this year to see if they can do this with a new manager. I think its was Joe Torres calm way of managing and his discipline that got the Yankees through the slumps and rough spots, let see if thier new manager , whose name escapes this old brain can do the same.

But let me clarify that I don't give up on my team just because they're losing, or if they're having an off season. Meaning that I always say "I'm a Mets Fan" and I wear my cap and t-shirt when I'm out, and I don't give up allegiance, or anything like that. But what I mean to say is I'm not generally interested in watching a bad team play. It's like being a masochist, in a way. I realize that many people consider this being a "fair weather fan", but I don't see it like that. As long as my team is playing decent ball, and has a chance to make the playoffs, even as a Wild Card, then I'm interested in watching them play. They don't have to be winning every single game or staying in First Place all year long. That said, I was working this afternooon but I managed to hear the 9th inning when Delgado drove Beltran home to make it 7-4 over the Yankees, and then I got the old "buzz". Truthfully, I've just been interested in watching movies this year instead of ball games. Maybe I'll get into it soon. ---------------------- "It's MORE ... than a hobby!"
