My theatre showed it during the rerelease in the 1990's, and we all fell in love with it. Particularly the women on staff, who all felt like the film was an interesting and feminine take on sci-fi. There was something about Barbarella's unashamed take on sexuality that struck a vibe, as I recall.
I dig the sets, and the overall feverdream qualities of the plot, and the campy acting, and the title sequence does bear rewatching! Though I'm still confused about exactly what the difference is between the uncut film print that we showed and the current PG DVD release. I'm also a big fan of the soundtrack, for which I was able to track down a legitimate CD release for a few years back as a UK import.
A fun Barbarella Site
